Product description Review: Easy to install and cheaper than a new dishwasher - This gasket was easy to install, inexpensive, ($11), no service call needed. Plus Whirlpool has a YouTube video - short with minimal extra "talk." There are other videos. I do recommend starting the installation of the gasket under the locking mechanism attached to your counter. This way you can divide the gasket into 2 equal parts. Take your time installing the gasket into the 2 curved sections of the dishwasher frame. Make sure both sides are flat - not "pulled" toward the interior of the dishwasher. Slowly press down on the gasket as you are installing it into the channel. Once installed, return to the top middle of the dishwasher and press again the gasket - slowly, inch by inch. I tested the dishwasher by placing two small pie pans with paper towel squares at the bottom of the dishwasher right and left sides. I had a drop every minute or so, I then pressed the gasket again using the flat part of a dinner knife handle. NO LEAKS!! Be patient. Good Luck Review: Fine - Works fine, easy to install.

Works perfectly at half the price!
I only wish I had tried this seal before SEVERAL others that either did not fit and were returned or were VERY difficult to install and caused the door to not close properly. Not to mention they all cost as much as 3x what this one does! $10 is fantastic. This one works perfectly! I am using it on an older Maytag model MDB7749SAM1. Seals completely (no more leaks) and the door closes easily! Although I did keep the door closed for a few hours before using it, as many users suggest, I did not need to, you could tell right away it closed properly. It also is VERY flexible unlike several others. Saves your fingers! OK there is a hard part but this IMO is true for EVERY other seal out there. It is a pain to install-they all are IMO. Easy install is not really accurate though reasonable. Be prepared to spend some time doing it right-slowly. I found the center, started from the top center and worked around one side and then the other. When done I trimmed the excess at both bottom ends. I left about 2 inches either side at the bottom R/L as this was how the original seal was. If you own the Maytag model above, this is the seal for you, hands down!

Easy to install and solves the leaking issues
Was fairly easy to install once I got it going. Read a lot about leaving it in the sun or soaking it to make it more pliable but it went in fine. Leaked a few drops the first few times but after that it was perfect. Would definitely buy it again.

Works great
Had a leak around my dishwasher and this fixed the issue. Fit was just right. Easy to install and trimmed extra off each end of gasket to fit my dishwasher door perfectly. Fixed my leak.

Does NOT fit Whirlpool quiet partner
This does NOT fit my whirlpool dishwasher quiet partner ii even though it says it does. It is bigger. Watch out! updated to say, get a heat gun and warm it up. also measure using the old one. Make sure curved aread faces inside tub. It's still hard to force in but I did get the door to close finally. We will see how it works

Does not fit Whirlpool Quiet Partner IV dishwasher
I purchased this gasket after searching for the Whirlpool part number from my dishwasher service manual. The gasket and door strike arrived in good condition. My dishwasher (Whirlpool Quiet Partner IV, model GU2475XTVY0) had a metal strike already, so I did not use it. The dishwasher door did not close properly after installing the new gasket. I suspected I made an error during installation, so I watched many YouTube videos since there were no installation instructions included. I then reinstalled the gasket using all the tips collected from videos: heating the gasket with a hair dryer to make it more pliable, using the rounded handle of a dinner knife to press the gasket into the gap. I triple-checked the orientation. I was careful not to stretch the gasket during installation. No luck. Next, I pulled the dishwasher out from beneath the countertop and used woodworking clamps to hold the door shut against the dishwasher tub. I ran the hottest cycle I could. When the wash cycle was complete, I carefully removed the clamps and the door popped open. Thinking that the gasket would eventually "settle," I clamped the door shut again while my family was out of town for over a week. When we returned, I ran a rinse only cycle as a test without the clamps holding the door shut. The gasket pushed the door open, halting the cycle. (You can tell this happens when the start button LED starts blinking.) I ended up taking the original, worn gasket out of the trash, cleaning it, and reinstalling it in the dishwasher. The door now closes properly again. I can't return the gasket because I had to trim it to length to fit inside the dishwasher. Fortunately, it wasn't very expensive. Bottom line: if your Whirlpool dishwasher uses gasket part number W10542314, this third-party gasket may not fit correctly, and you won't find out until it's too late to return the product. I regret purchasing this item. --- 2025-11-19: Thinking that my door latch assembly might be at fault, I ordered a replacement door latch (OEM part) and installed it this evening, then reinstalled this gasket. My theory was that the door latch had become worn over time and didn't have the holding strength necessary to keep the door closed with this new gasket. Unfortunately, the new door latch did not make a difference–the door still pops open with this gasket installed.
