284600086 Extra Fine Watercolor 15ml Paint Tube, Quinacridone, Burnt Orange, 0.5 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)

Quin fuchsia has quickly become my favorite red pigment. It’s very strange to me because it’s kind of a hot pink and I hate that color?!? But this is just such an amazing mixer and is actually somehow beautiful to me on its own. It is duochrome, which I love, so maybe that’s why. It somehow has a cherry, almost yellow leaning mass tone, and has a slightly blue leaning tone when watered down. It’s also a little bit muted so maybe that’s why it lends itself so readily to the perfect realistic yet vibrant shades? I love paring it with py 129 azo green (which is a cool yellow) to make the perfect quinacradone gold substitute. It’s also gorgeous with ultramarine blue. Will it be the only red you need? No. If I need a bright scarlet that is yellow leaning pyrrol scarlet is necessary. But if I had to choose a versatile red for a limited pallet, hands down, this is the most useful. I can’t say enough good about this pigment, 5 stars!

Love Daniel Smith watercolors. This one is a useful color but if you can be made with burnt sienna and a touch of alizarin crimson. It is transparent so lifts off well doesn't stain.

Absolutely beautiful color. Daniel Smith water colors Do NOT disappoint. They are strong and beautiful. I love them. I also like that they are a Seattle based company so they are local and not imported. My favorite brand.

Bought on a recommendation. It's a beautiful rich transparent orange.

Never used Daniel Smith for watercolour painting and was a bit sceptical as the brand’s a bit pricey for a student / new amateur. But it really is superb, strong, creamy paint and quinacridone burnt orange is definitely up there with the most useful and most used in my palette.

Best watercolor paints I have used, this color was recommended.
