Beautifully Reinforces 4" Duct for Dryer Vents
I was repairing a beaten up 4" duct in the floor behind a dryer unit at and was looking for a crimped 4" duct at both end to reinforce it before replacing the dryer's vent hose. This provided a beautiful and effortless fit, making up for the bent and beaten up duct entry that was the receiving end of the exhaust hose.It is lightweight, fire proof and acommodate connections at both ends. Highly recommended. Installation is easy and effortless.

What was described.

Joins 2 Female (4” dia) ends of Dryer duct. Flimsy Aluminum, Light Metal Gauge Build.
It’s a Male connector to join 2 Female ends, and aluminum build.1. My use was to join an accordion flex pipe (1 of many accordion pipes on Amazon) with seemingly 4” dia female ends for worm clamps, to an existing Steel female duct pipe. See next comment.2. Choosing aluminum build was a mistake. The construction is very light and thin gauge, and easily bent or crimped. Using worm clamps to secure the ends was suspect, so I used 2 retaining 3/8” screws rather than clamps, and the lite aluminum gauge metal barely held the screws. The existing heavier gauge steel duct, from 1964, was solid as a rock. I didn’t need rock strength, but the connection joints needed to survive movement from regular lint cleaning. In addition, the fit wasn’t very air tight so I used HVAC aluminum UL181 (from sealing AC ducts and connections) on the joints of this connector. I kept this connector to complete this dryer lint duct connection project, move on to have the dryer back online for the family.Bottom line, the connector worked, but the flimsy aluminum build wasn’t ideal. Pay more for heavier gauge steel and the person working on this in 50 years will appreciate it. The existing steel duct was 1964, and it is strong and ageless without corrosion.

Short connector, perfect fit for what I needed.
Perfect Fit. Just what I needed to finish the range hood install. It is light weight so its durability might not suit all implementations. Nevertheless, it was exactly what I needed.
