Satisfied
So... I just needed some simple open headphones for desktop at home , i don't listen music at high volumes, 15% - 25% or something, and i don't use amp or external audio interface, firstly i was thinking about MA300 but later changed my mind (bulky and heavy). These look like closed, cause don't have a mesh (which i think sounds and looks better) but this is not a problem for me, ear pads are soft and comfortable, also all my previous headphones has one side single cord, can't say cords from both sides annoying me but still i prefer single side.About the sound... I have many expensive headphones at work, also owned several in past, the sound is not bad, you hear some details here and there but for me there is too much lows and less highs. this is fine if you listen some pop music, but in metal, rock, instrumental, the cymbals, hi-hats don't sound as good as i like, (i don't use eq) but i own them already few weeks and now they sound better (or maybe my ears adapt current sound).

Wore these til they fall apart.
I didn't buy these here, I bought them at a retail chain years ago, I've had them for a very long time. I could not, for the life of me remember what model they were and find any sort of markings. I was just taking a picture of these, right before writing this to try to ask around if anyone can identify these, right when I was adjusting the brightness of the picture I found the model number. I looked for ages and found that kind of funny. They broke off the headband a while back and I mended it with pipe cleaners, I didn't want to toss them. I tried looking at other sets and took home a few pairs, some near the $100 range and none could match the sound that comes from these. The sound is excellent, deep, but not too deep and not flat or hollow sounding. You can have them nice and loud and they don't clip. Not to mention very comfortable, there is not many, except for very expensive studio quality monitors you can wear hours on end and not get that sore feeling from ear pads pressing on your ears, or overly tight headbands giving you a headache cause they clamp like a vice. They have taken some abuse, which is why they broke. I'm also impressed they sound good after all those years. So what I'm doing now is finding replacements pads for these, cause they do wear out eventually and not feel the greatest, when I get new ones, to me they'd be good as new. I'll keep using them til the voice coil shorts out.

Sound quality is just so so
This is a big comfortable headphone with a big 40 mm driver so I was expecting it to pack one heck of a sound, but the sound was weak and bass really lacks the oomph. I have two pairs of the Sony MDRZX300/BLK which I like a lot, that is a 5 star product, and I was hoping for an upgrade to it. Instead it's a downgrade from the MDRZX300/BLK model. It's still a decent headphone for the price but can't be compared to the MDRZX300/BLK model.

Sony is my go-to brand for great inexpensive headphones.
These are great headphones, and for the price I would continue to buy more. The cable will go first on these if you abuse it by running it over with the wheels on your chair or yanking it out of the headphones jack, but that's with any wire. As a recoding artist I know a lot of people who spend big money on headphones. But I'm always looking for the inexpensive Sony headphones that work just as good for me, if not better. I love the feel and comfort of these. They never hurt my ears. I love the equalization of the sound that comes out. It has nice clear high frequencies and evenly balanced lows that allow for a nice clean spectrum that is not muddy or muffled. Any recording engineer with tell you not to mix in headphones, but rather to mix on flat monitors, but I mix on these headphones all the time and things turn very well for the audio and video projects I produce. I used to have some Sony headphones many years ago that I loved and when I had a hard time finding them for the cheap price (MDR-XD100), I bought some other brand like JVC which weren't that good. They were too muffled with bass. Then after another search I found these, and fell in love with them just as much as the old ones I loved. To put it plainly Sony is my go-to brand for great inexpensive headphones.

Haven't heard it ALL yet, but so far so good
Note: I am NOT an audiophile.Bought these to replace a broken pair of Sony MDR-CD180 headphones which I had for 15 years and took quite some hits travelling all over the country (until they finally gave up out-of-the-blue).FIT: The MA100s fit about the same -- not quite as cushiony, especially on the front of the ears, so I'm not sure noise isolation is going to be as good.SOUND: So far the sound reproduction appears to be equal to the old ones. I've only listened to some radio talk (online) and a movie score CD (Back to the Future). But they show promise.DURABILITY: The cord is NOT as durable-looking, and appears more like plastic than rubber, but it's definitely better than the cords on any earbuds you could buy. The plug is a lot smaller, which will help fit into my iPod Touch case better. I like that the headband attaches to each earpiece in two spots, so hopefully a single failure will not mean a total loss (again).

Sony headphones great with iPod and PC listening
I bought these for my iPod and PC listening while at work. I have an old pair of Sony headphones that have lasted a long time and tolerated a lot of abuse -- a little tattered around the edges now -- as I stuff them in my bag on my commute to work and often fall asleep with them on. They're real troopers, so I thought I'd stick with Sony. I like the longer cord length -- in fact, I bought these after having purchased a different headphone with a cord so short that I could barely move at my desk at work without yanking the plug out of my PC. (What the...!!!) Not with these. The Sony MDR-MA100 Over the Head Style Headphones have worked out really well for my purposes. My husband, who is a retired classical musician and audiophile type, would never purchase anything under a few hundred bucks, but he listens on a top-notch stereo, not an iPod, PC or hooked up to the TV. So, audiophiles, steer clear; everyday users, have fun!

A Great way to fully enjoy a movie late at night .
I bought this product as a way to watch my films at night without up-setting the wife and missing out on the sound enjoyment of my movies . I have the LED tv and the 5-1 sound system to go with it , however like a lot of good movie fans my wife sometimes trots of to bed early , I was fed up with having to turn the volume up/down all the time , so I invested in a nice set of can's and an exstention cable . problem solved . May be not 5-1 but these headphones give you a very good alternative . the Bass is excellent for a budget pair and you can hear crisp tones when the talking is low . Overall a very good quality item for a very good low price , added to the extention cable problem solved for onlt Β£20 .

Great
The headphones arrived well in advance of delivery date, they are just what I ordered, they had been recommended by someone who already had a pair and I am very pleased with them and the service of the provider

Great true sounding
This is a very good pair of headphones. Unlike a lot of lower cost ones, this pair gives incredibly clear, natural sound. It does not add extra bass to the sound, or any other distortion. The sound is very crisp and clear.

Reasonable
Good quality for the price. The cord is way shorter than the original mode. I had to purchase an extention -- bother.
