How to Not Family
This is a 4-film adaptation of a creepy, sad, unsettling series. A very good one, too. There were some key sub-plots that were changed a bit, a character was never seen alive, but it was worth watching as the poor Dollanganger family went from a happy blond suburban family to imprisonment in a room and attic ruled with violence, hatred and deception.Three escaped, finding a home in the south but no escape from the secret two of the siblings shared. The attic prison had affected them for life. Desires for revenge, hatred of the unusual, and a coldly indifferent relative only bring the three down. Now there were two. Revenge left a bitter taste in their mouths; love led them to a skewed family. It only took a mysterious new neighbor and her creepy butler to bring the past into the present...corrupting one child. In the last film, the corrupted boy has grown up and come into his inheritance and (some) of his wealth. However, the ghosts of the past are still with him, and his hate of his family's abnormality makes him a dangerous man. I liked the movies, but this one felt a lot rushed in the ending. The redemption arc didn't really take, for me. Maybe the books should have all been made into miniseries.

Awesome..
I think they did a helluva job with this movie series based on books.. Is it me or was Chris a real idiot? I mean, he was as stupid as stupid can be.. Falling for his sister and wrecking a relationship with a girl we all knew he didn't deserve.. Not only that but while Bart had the balls to run upstairs to try and save his mother in law, Chris grabs Cathy and runs out like a coward.. Not only that but he could have also save his own mother but grabbed Cathy again while allowing his mother to die.. Bart Jr. is the real hero of the last two movies.. He is the reason those movies were good.. Still, its nice to see that someone can actually follow the books almost 100% instead of doing something stupid(like killing Corrine in the original Flowers In The Atric, stupid idea)..
