I ordered 4 of these kits for establishing some new food wildlife food plots. I had planned to use a mix from Whitetail Institute and this made it easier since I knew what specific products I was thinking of planting. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I put the soil sample bag into a ziploc bag and included the complete form in there as well. Had results of soil test which was easy to understand within 24hrs of when the samples arrived at the lab. There were a couple of drawbacks though, postage wasn't included but I guess it would cost different amounts depending on where the sample was shipped from to their lab in Tennessee. Also, you could only specify two of their products so if you changed your mind on what you wanted to plant you might have to send another sample, otherwise I would have given this 5 stars.

I needed soil samples for my food plots. I am a first timer but all research said it was important and these are the best. Followed instructions, sent samples in and 24 hrs after lab received, I had the email results. Highly recommend you also get their Plot Perfection app and pay that fee. That app is awesome for storing lab results and selecting diff products and it will automatically tell you the needed like and fertilizers for the specific Whitetail Institute seed you plan to use as well as generic types of seeds. Highly recommend WI soil test and products.

Waste of money, didn’t come with anything in the box but a checklist. No test bags or where to send it or anything.

I struggled for years. I put every conceivable effort behind growing a lawn. Nothing worked it just seemed to get worse. I tried different fertilizers Different pesticides, organic, non-organic, reseeding over seeding aerating nothing seem to help. I cut down trees for more sun changed blade height, increased then cut back watering. Nothing helped moss took over and weeds kept coming. I outsourced the job but when their supposedly magic fertilizer showed no impact they only wanted to sell me things I already tried. I bought the soil test out of desperation. It sat on my desk for nearly a year because by this point I was so discouraged I didn’t bother. I finally got bored enough to try it. When the test reports came back it showed I have an amazing amount of phosphorus in the soil built up. That will lead to shallow roots, and all the other problems associated with it. Once I switched to a low phosphorus, no phosphorus blend I immediately begin to see an improvement. I made therecommended soil additions and now my lawn is thriving. After only two summers the difference is dramatic. I still have high phosphorus levels but they are no longer pegged off the chart. All the wasted years, effort and thousands of dollars could have been avoided if I had started where I ended up highly recommend this as the very first thing you do regarding growing anything. It will save you money and quite possibly your sanity.

I am an agricultural consultant that purchased this test for my personal garden. I take soil tests for clients regularly and know how to do it and have my own soil sampling probe. I received the soil test back with a pH value of 7.4. Of course, I think that I will not need to add any lime but I sent a soil sample to the laboratory I use for my clients, which costs about the same minus the fact that I have to pay Whitetail's shipping fee to send off the sample. I had a pH value of 5.6. Whitetail Institute is completely unreliable and not worth the extra cost.
