The spikes look like they've been worked over with a hammer
I wore the traction cleats on a trail that was predominantly packed snow and ice, but also with some rocks. The spikes look like they've been worked over with a hammer. Some are folded over entirely, all of them are bent. They provided excellent traction for the first 4 to 5 miles, but then they started slipping somewhat, presumably due to the spikes getting bent out of shape. They were fairly easy to put on, perhaps 2 minutes each, and quite easy to take off. They stayed in position wellI am looking for stronger cleats that won't get bent out of shape so badly in mixed conditions. I weigh just a bit over 200 pounds.

As good as Kahtoola Microspikes at one third the price.
I hike icy snow packed trails in Utah's mountains with my dog with these and they work great!! Just as good of quality as my friend's Kahtoola Microspikes at almost one third the price. You won't be sorry.

Excellent microspikes for a reasonable price !
I have used these for several years now and they are holding up great. Excellent traction on ice and snow. And even if you step on rocks in between they hold up fine. A must-have for winter season hiking when there is not enough snow for snowshoeing. I have seen other people use another more well known brand that is 3 times the price - but the construction of these appears to be as good ! And after several years of hiking on snow / ice with these - after washing them they appear like brand new - no rust or other signs of wear and tear. One thing to note is the rubber color is not specified when you order the spikes - you get a random color. I ordered one pair which was orange - that I really liked. The other one was black which I did not like that much (the color part - construction wise it was the same).

Single season use.
Beware: Out of the bag they worked great. They did everything as advertised. They fit my boots fine and gave me a great feeling of security while walking on the ice. THE BAD! At the end of the season I put the cleats back in the supplied bag and and the next season I went to put them back on the same boots as used before, you can imagine my displeasure when I started to put them on my boot the rubber harness broke, the other one did the same. The rubber looked like it had dry rotted, it was hard and brittle. They had been put away in my ice fishing backpack and in a closet. Poor materials. Single season use.

Great!
These are honestly awesome. It takes a bit to get used to walking with them, but they are incredibly reliable. I take care of dogs by a lake and I have to walk down a hill twice a day to them. It is always icey and always awful during the winter. I tried yaktrax a couple times (the walkers and the pros) and they constantly slipped off and it became frustrating. I also never really felt entirely comfortable walking up and down the hill in them. These don't slip off and give me complete confidence walking on the ice. I've also taken them hiking a couple times and it went fantastically. I've had no issues with rubber top stretching out or breaking. So far, so good!

Sturdy cleats. Tight/small fit
Purchased in Nov 2016. Love the sturdy grip cleats. HOWEVER, the rubber fits extremely tight. I had a hard time putting them on while wearing the boots. The second time I put these on my boots, one of the rubber straps to the back tab broke (see picture). I’m not sure how long the other piece will hold out. Size 9 boots, Large size crampons. I would now order an XL

Good cleats
These cleats are terrific. The back yard was a sheet of frozen snow and ice and I am totally not interested in slipping and hurting myself. These cleats kept me upright and each step was totally secure. No arctic expeditions, just being in the back yard cleaning up after dogs. Confidence and peace of mind in my secure steps was provided by this product. I high recommend them if you don't want to fall on frozen snow and ice.

... various price ranges before making my choice and I'm glad I picked these
I took a long time to make a decision reading tons of reviews in various price ranges before making my choice and I'm glad I picked these. I bought two pairs, one for me, one for my SO. First time wearing them was in Maine navigating a very steep and icy embankment. My SO decided he didn't need to wear the cleats. You can feel these anchoring in securely as you walk. Guess who fell on their @ss? It wasn't me lol. They are a cinch to get on and off and I love the little bag they come with since I can just toss them into my ski bag with all my other winter gear.
