2012 Eden Canyon Vineyards Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 750 mL

I have been a fan of the Eden Canyon 2007 Estate vintage for years. Although lovely expressions, all, no other year seemed to live up to the lovely Bordeaux-esque characteristics of that bottle... UNTIL NOW. I was not suspecting any surprises out of Elaine's shipment of my 2012 Wine Club allocation, so I did not open a bottle of it right away, since I had several bottles of earlier years waiting in the que. I decided to open one a couple of weeks ago, so I could discuss the wine with her if she called for my comment. I poured my first glass right out of the bottle, without giving it any "air time." Minutes later when I took my first whiff and then sip, I gasped and exclaimed "Whoa Mama!" Three more sips and I was on the telephone to the Eden Canyon office, leaving a message that they had created an exceptional vintage (yet in more colorful words). If you have enjoyed EC Estate in the past, you have to try this vintage. If you have not, you still must try this vintage. If you refuse, Shame on You!!JR - Houston, Texas
