‘Mi scuso per il ritardo’ – I apologize for being late

great for first time learners
I like how the book shows you how to break down the way each part of the word is said.

Liked the phrases and situations in this book
Really liked the phrases. They were natural and easy. Suggest you prep for a day out by loooking at some common phrases and being ready. Courtesy goes a long way in Italy. Not that someone didn’t flip out at me in the grocery store but… I had no idea what she said. Too fast. Be bold be courteous. It goes a long way.

It's okay.
This book is....okay. While the nature of such a work is always going to include many phrases a person will never use, of the "1,500 most common" phrases this book covers...easily 50% are phrases NO ONE would EVER use in conversation. In reflection, it would be better to write keep a running list of the most common phrases you actually use when traveling and then use Google translate to create your own, useful, compendium. Also, the editing of entries is slapdash.

Easy to use!
This was really nice to have before going to Italy and while in Italy. Easy to read and well made.

great book
Have gone to Italy for the past few years and this book with various words and phrases is ideal. I can go into a restaurant and order without any problems. I understand when spoken to a lot better than when I first went to Italy. If you really just want to get by, with ordering in a restaurant, or have a light conversation, or just to show respect to the people that you have some understanding of the language, then this is the book to get. I would highly recommend. It has helped me tremendously.

This book is false advertising - it is clearly done using Google translate or AI. Best case scenario, it was poorly proofread before publication. It includes 'translations' for such phrases as "Can you take the head for the soup?" (pg.55, total nonsense in English and the Italian translation actually means 'have you decided on the soup') and "I want to exchange dollars for yen" (pg.116, will be very useful in Italy, which obviously uses the Euro). I have no confidence that any of these translations or pronunciations are accurate - do not waste your money, time, or luggage space on this book.
