Good kit, great company
It's a good kit by a great company. I had some issues with a couple of the parts in my kit. However, the customer service was excellent and I got speedy replacements. I installed the kit to a Giant Talon XL Aluminum mountain bike with disk brakes. I added a few things such as 12V converter for automotive grade LED lights, a rack to mount my battery, a full frame bag, and different sprockets. I put a 52 tooth front, and 34-11 tooth rear freewheel on it. This allows low gear to pedal uphill with no electric assist, and also pedal along at a comfortable cadence up to 45 MPH. Just keep in mind you need a compatible rear derailleur and a few extra links in your chain. I would recommend similar upgrades if doing long commutes and night riding. The power is great and on the higher settings will try to wheelie if you're not careful. I paired mine with a Unit Pack Power 72V 40Ah battery. That battery is very big and heavy, makes the bike awkward to maneuver when I'm not on top of it, and required a beefy custom mount. Not the battery I'd recommend for everyone, but I wanted lots of range and it was cheap. The range is 40 to 120 miles. I'm a tall and heavy rider, so me on the bike with battery, tools, lunch, work clothes and water comes out to 330 lbs. I have lots of steep hills and it's been windy lately. Even so, a charged battery gets up to 45 MPH on a slight incline very quickly with no pedaling. This style of riding averages 40 MPH will result in only about 1 mile per Ah. If I pedal along with it and average 35 MPH, it uses 11Ah to go 20 miles on those same hills, so the range is nearly doubled this way. Now a note here, I adjusted my amperage down from 40 to 20 Amps. There was only a slight uphill acceleration loss, but the efficiency went up, and the heat buildup went way down. I tried various set points, and I recommend 20-25 Amps. I think the motor and controller will last a lot longer this way(84V for charged 72V nominal battery X 40 Amps = 3360 Watts!, way over the 2000 Watt advertised rating), and I can confirm the range for 20 Amps is improved at the same speeds. Also note, that if you intend to use this kit over 25 MPH, I strongly suggest you have disk brakes and wear protective gear. I also recommend getting your wheels trued up perfect. if they're wobbling and bouncing it's going to be really bad at high speed. I recommend this kit to anyone with a little mechanical knowledge and OK with putting in some work to get a great end result. As a motorcyclist who also cycles for exercise (since my knees aren't the best when I run a lot), this kit is a perfect in-between which lets me commute to work, get my exercise, and have fun all at the same time.

Nice Kit, Powerful
I just finished this and I've only ridden it a couple of times. I had it up to 30mph which is scary fast on a bicycle. I doubt it will hit 40 as I weigh 210 and it is a heavy frame, but I'll update this when I've ridden it more. I used an old steel frame from a cheap 20 year old Murray. I stripped it and replaced every single thing on the bike. It was not designed for disk brakes and that was the biggest obstacle. Anyone building this kit should use a hardtail mountain bike that was designed for disk brakes. I did not hook up the PAS. The control panel has a trip odometer, battery level, speed, Watt, and power level display. It has 5 power levels. Level 5 is Quick. It feels like the front wheel wants to lift when you hit the throttle. Levels 3 & 4 are good for just cruising. I like the full twist throttle better than the half twist my other e bike has, but they are both nice. I've never tried the thumb throttle. I bought the 20 amp hour battery and you can see it fits easily in this frame. It probably wouldn't fit a bike with rear suspension. I think it's a good kit with a heavy duty motor. The rear wheel drive feels better than my other front drive bike, more like a motorcycle. Sweet.

Great kit butโฆ
Unless you know are skilled in this kind of thing, itโs not DIY, especially because it comes with vague instructions. I had to find a bike shop that does E-bike conversion to make it happen. Still, so far, it has been great. Living in a place with hills everywhere, I can get around very easily and on flat sections, I can easily go over 30 in fourth gear. Iโve been able to top out at 47 while in 5th. However, itโs best to limit usage of 5th gear because it gets very hot and drains the battery fast.

Best deal for your money
This kit is the best. You couldnโt get much better than this. Other controllers I have used and motors I had would frequently burn up regardless of what I did to help cool them down. This controller and motor run so smooth and do not overheat at all. I have about 5 miles on it so far and have not had one issue yet. The controller is fully programmable through the lcd display and is very easy to understand. The wiring is very easy to understand as most all of the connections only have 1 possible connector they go to. Canโt really mess it up. As for the power, oh boy. This baby moves. With myself and batteries on this aluminum frame 26โ mountain bike at approximately 250 lbs, I can easily do 33mph the entire time. The battery size and amperage output does play a big part in power and speed of the motor so make sure you have the correct battery. The more AH capacity, the faster you go. Now for the customer service. Anne has been a huge help. She was very fast to reply to emails and then to messages on whatโs app. If I had any questions she always provided me with as much information and help as she could and was always so friendly. I havenโt dealt with someone so pleasant is so long, it was very enjoyable, refreshing, and just made me feel appreciated. If your looking for a project or parts, this is the place to get them from. The shipping times donโt always reflect the actual ship time. I got my kit in about 1 week. When you make your order, Anne will get ahold of you and verify your exact parts and anything else that you may need so when you get the kit, it is a direct bolt up with as little to no modification needed. You really couldnโt make it any easier. Thank you very much Anne for all of your help and I look forward to being able to work with you again in the future. Update time!!! Itโs been 2 riding seasons now, after battling some battery issues and increasing battery capacity, I have found that this set up will actually do close to 45 mph without pedaling!!! Which is insane on a bike and makes you want more. I am still super satisfied with the capability of this motor and controller. It works so well it leaves me wanting more. However to much more and Iโm afraid I may burn it up. Always keep power ratings at their rated level and donโt try to over run the system. If you want to go faster get the higher rated system. I have close to 600 miles on this system so far and am planning on building a side car to take my son with me to work during the spring and summer. I plan on running this set up for many years and if anything ever happens to it, I wouldnโt hesitate to buy another, however next time I may buy the higher rated system and really see what it can do. Remember however, these are bicycle parts. Most bicycles arenโt built to go that fast constantly. Take care of your bikes and make sure they are safe to travel at those speeds.

edit: Broke after 1 year and no support. OLD: 40MPH flat, 48 mph down hill w/ 72 volt battery.
NEW 1 year later: This kit was great, until it wasn't. After about 2000 miles on the odometer (which isn't crazy), I started feeling vibrating, and a few days later while riding the rear axle snapped clean off! Completely unsafe, and luckily I was going slow so I could catch myself, but otherwise would have flown off. I have reached out to support numerous times and they aren't providing any assistance. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary nor am too heavy.. but for this to break 1 year later on a critical part is unacceptable. Old positive review: I've built a few ebikes before, and if this is your first it will be tricky. There really aren't any instructions and you should have good tools and a bike stand. I knew that going in so it's no problem. I paired this with a hardtail 29er, 20 ah 72 volt battery and it rips! I'm 200 lbs and full charged can get me about 38 mph. slight downhill or lighter person easily breaks 40. Plenty of power. The main thing they could improve is with the pedal assist sensor. When you pedal a bit, it counts it as max and goes max power of that level. I guess they'd need a torque sensor or cadence should work, but it's a bit annoying for it to suddenly take off. I have over 600 miles already and it has worn the tire down but no issues.

Awesome power and acceleration
Paired this kit with a 60v battery on Giant Talon mountain bike. Pulls really strong off a dead stop with no pedaling, mid range power is incredible, top speed about 40 and gets there very quickly, range about 40 miles at 20mph.

3 years 600 hard off road miles later.
Using with a 52v battery. Put this on a Vitus Nucleus VR frame. Running on some mild off road MTB trails with a few jumps. Has taken everything Ive thrown at it. Ive added magnetic liquid to help cooling though I never had a over heating problem even on the hottest days. I did put a different geared cassette on it. Good stuff. Everything is solid. The only problem I ever had was with the battery connector. The part on the actual battery where the contacts touch were melting/corroding/becoming obligated so and intermittently cutting power. I replaced the connector on the battery and its solid again. Heres to another solid 600 miles.

Good performance
This kit was successfully put together by my 16 year old nephew to transform his bike into electric mode. It has good speed and he is now wearing a helmet!!! I have not seen the finished product in person, as he lives a few hours from me, but I do know he is very happy with it.
