Bradford White 265-51046-00 Upper & Lower Water Heater Thermostat Kit

Our local Hardware store in teeny town couldn't get this item for us. Lowe's gave us the wrong item. Finally, came here and found the exact item I needed. Price is fair and installation, a bit nerve wracking because of the electricity involved, but shut everything down. Was fairly easy to install and operate for a layman. Replaced both our upper and lower thermostats with this and no need to replace the entire water heater. Took me about an hour from very beginning to end to install this safely. Highly recommend.

Thank you. The parts ordered came as quickly as was possible which we appreciated. We had no hot water for four days. The parts were properly packaged and arrived in pristine condition with installation directions and very clear pictures to show what was needed. I installed the new parts in just minutes, filled the tank with water and burped air from the tank and lines then threw on the breaker in the panel box. Within 20 minutes water was beginning to warm up, a good sign the new parts were working a half hour later I took a much needed shower. Thank you for your help as it was greatly appreciated.

Worked for my water heater. I would recommend not removing old thermostat retainers beforehand since this pack only comes with 1 retainer. The new thermostats fit just fine under the old retainers on my water heater. Don’t cut the tabs until you test fit to see if you really need to or not.

They fit perfect in my bradford white water heater model re250t6-1ncww upper and lower thermostats. They appear to be the exact ones I pulled out. They were really easy to install the only problem is putting the insulation back in which is a pain but that has nothing to do with the thermostats. I recommend taking a picture of how the wires go just a heads up.

My old unit was constantly tripping the red reset button. The new unit seems to have overcome this problem for the past 24 hours. Keeping my fingers crossed. It was easy to install once I figured out what the enclosed wire and connector was for. This thermostat is not an exact duplication as the one it is replacing. One of the black wires was too short to connected to the upper unit. A short black wire with a connector is provided to overcome this problem. The unit clipped right into both the top and bottom clips on my hot water heater and I did not have to use with the one supplied. I do find it odd that only one clip was supplied. Had my old clips not worked on the two new thermostats I would have been one short.

Correct product arrived on time. We ordered these parts when our Bradford stopped making hot water. It fixed the issue and it has worked great since. It was a little difficult to change out because the outer shell didn’t line up well with the area the parts were in. I also needed tin snips to cut off the bracket holding on the old part.

I bought this set to replace the thermostats on a Bradford White M280R6DS2 water heater. The first issue is the package only had the upper thermostat, which is ultimately what I need to replace, however it is recommended that you replace both and I paid for a set. I tried to install the one sent and while it does fit, it does not sit nearly as snug against the tank as the one I am replacing. I believe this is because it is longer in length therefore the top of the thermostat is not being held securely against the tank. The other issue is that the screw positions, mostly on the right bottom side are much higher than the original thermostat meaning I would need to extend this wire or try to fish a new one in it's place, neither of which I prefer to do. The quality of the item seems ok in that it seems sturdy and well constructed, but for me it will not work as desired so I will find another option.
