works well good thermal layer glad we bought it
This is a well made sturdy door flap that works well. It was not that easy to fit because of our door style, we had to pad out around the cut out so that the flap came out enough to allow the door flap shutter to slide in from the top and secure at night. The white plastic screws in the pack seemed flimsy but in use we realised they are slightly flexible which meant it was a lot easier to line up and secure. There were also metal screws for fitting the outer panel, I do see why the other screws are plastic and the door is very secure with them. Dog loves it and is in and out all day long and we dont have to be constantly getting up and down letting him out. Im glad we went for the metal version and the thermal flap, our dog does like to dash though the flap taking his toys with him occasionally which could have been an issue for a plastic flap. We chose not to take the door off to fit which made it more difficult it was much easier with two people helping to line things up. There are adjustment screws to allow the movement of the individual flaps on both sides to make sure it closes well, ours is closing fairly well but we will probably adjust slightly to make it perfect, meantime it does keep out any drafts and no colder than it was in the room. Thumbs up from us :)

Keeps the draft out and the heat in.
Using it as a dog flap for 2 cocker spaniels size L.. amazing product brillant value for money. Keeps all the draft out and very quiet. Security is brilliant has like 3 doors. Very durable for dogs. Definitely would say to g et the aluminium one for a few £ more. Functionally says what it’s for.

Good Quality product and easily fitted
Good product Easy to fit. German shepherd can fit with ease using the Large size. Quality is good, no sharp edges and perfectly safe for you pet. Be mindful about the thickness of the door as mine was UPVC and needed additional trim to pad it out to allow the frame to fit.

Very good pet flap
Firstly I want to address a couple of the negatives.. The one about it not clearly stating the door thickness and having to buy the extension adapter...it very clearly states "Easily fits into panelled, wood, PVC and metal doors 3.75-5cm" That person clearly hadn't bothered to read the full description. Another one complaining about being able to see light down the sides...that is where the brush bars meet the rubber flaps, they help keep the draft out...if you want double glazing standard, then teach your dog how to use a door handle...they've clearly never had a proper draft rattler pet door that blows the Beast From the East through your door and up your leg in the sitting room...seriously, I soooo appreciate how draft proof this one is! The one about "the mount for the 2 of the flaps blocks the frames from clicking together"...well, firstly they don't block anything, and secondly they don't "click" together, one is very slightly bigger than they other so they very smoothly slide in to each other giving a nice smooth surround to the whole thing, makes it much easier to clean too with muddy dogs. I fitted this very easily on my own in about 30-40 minutes, it only took that long as I struggle with fiddly screws. The instruction are very clear and easy to follow. I absolutely love the padded middle flap, that really does make a difference and helps to keep the rubber flaps apart snd connecting to their own magnets...oh yes, this has 2 sets of magnets, unlike the conventional 1 middle one, this is a game changer as once the two flaps lock in, there is minimal...and I really do mean absolute minimal, draft coming through. I've had years of many different pet flaps, currently 7 furry beasts, and this is by far the best one. I think I got it on a good deal, I paid £47.62 for the medium flap and £10.91 for the medium adapter as my door panel is a standard 28mm, you DO need that extra adapter as you can't fudge it to fit if your panel is not thick enough...it has to be between 3.75-5cm to not need the adapter. We are currently at -4 here is freezing cold Chester, UK and I can barely feel anything from the flap, in fact I can't feel any draft, just a little colder due to the aluminium frame...really can't ask.for more than that. So all in all, I definitely recommend this, so much so I went back and bought another ready to put in the extension.

Fantastic - Recommend
There are 3 magnetted flaps which do a good job of keeping this closed. Sturdy construction and well able for my large and mid size dog. If it is stormy then the flap can blow open - I offset that but putting up a thermal door curtain with a shower curtain against it so it is weather proof, keeps in more heat but dogs can still go in and out. Excellent product - I researched a lot before buying (And cutting into the door) and definitely worth it

Works well, worth the price, no more snow in the kitchen!
We upgraded to the All Weather Large pet door when the wind starting blowing snow through our regular Pet Safe aluminium door. We have had Pet Safe doors for over 10 years; replacing the flaps 1-2x a year due to rough and tumble three large dog household. I contacted customer service, very helpful actually, because their website did not give the dimensions of the All Weather door. Customer service had the dimensions and gave us the tip that even though the All Weather door was a few mm wider, it should fit in the existing opening. Worked a treat! Slipped the All Weather into the previous regular opening, small nudge and screwed right together. The All Weather is thicker, so they advise buying a door spacer. Our door width was ok. The All Weather model is thicker, the reason being it is actually two regular Pet Safe doors/flap with an insulated panel in-between. The All Weather has METAL screws which was a nice improvement from the plastic ones. Three greyhounds and a jack russel took right to the new three layer arrangement. It has been gusty windy day today: no snow coming in and no draft. A note from previous posts: it may look like a gap on the sides of the flaps but ours has no gap and no draft. Highly recommended!

OK, seems like a beta product
For the price, I was expecting a lot more - and I only paid the Amazon Warehouse price because the normal price was too steep for a cat flap. PROS The only product like this I could find. (We live near a railway so needed this to try and help reduce noise.) It's a good (but very obvious) idea to have several layers to help thermal and noise insulation. But the execution of the concept... FAILS Security - The screws can be undone from outside whichever way you put the screws in (screw head one side, retaining nut the other), not great for security. And the security plate is made of PLASTIC, on the ALUMINIUM version - I kid you not. Again, not great for security. Aesthetics - The frame is white, but the closing plate is... beige! The metal screw heads are silver on the white border. The screws that retain the closing flaps remain visible. I would have expected a white metal plate and some clip on trim to hide screws/screw caps. (You can see all these design choices/bodges in the photos before you buy, so these were not unexpected, but I bought because there was no alternative, not because I like these design choices). Price - I got it all at around half price and I think it's still too much for the somewhat utilitarian looking/under-developed product what you get. I also had to pay for a shim they sell for another £20 to cope with thinner doors - why not include it, especially at this price? Ease of use - what are you supposed to do with the plastic closing plate when removed - surely they could have designed a hook or something to help store it? Just all seems a bit half-baked, did the product designer take the afternoon off? CONCLUSION - There seems to be a gap in the market for a similar product at a more reasonable price (£30?) or a premium product that looks better, has a metal closing plate, and includes all the bits you need for, in my opinion, £50. Oh well, it does the job.

Good stuff
English storm easily gets through, but you can always use plastic cover the close it. Our door needed an adaptor as it was thinner than the flap (cheap and you can buy it from petsafe). Silent. We love it overall.

Bonne isolation

Best purchase ever
We had replaced our exterior back door and had the door company install this dog door so can't comment on the installation process but the door itself is great quality and works very well. This is the first time our dog has had a dog door and it's been a huge improvement to her quality of life. She uses it all day every day and has taken control of her outside time. It's one of the best things we've purchased. I did a lot of research before buying this door and I like that it's metal framed, insulated, and locks easily and tight. We've had it for about 4 months now and no issues at all. Every 6 weeks or so I need to adjust the flap screws to bring the door flap up a few millimeters but I expected that and it's really simple to do. The insulation layer is effective and doesn't impede the door at all. We get a bit more dirty paw prints on the floor when it's raining outside but that's just the compromise with having a dog door. Installed in winter at approx -20C and no drafts, just had a few days of +30C and no heat coming in either so really pleased overall.

Excellent Door
This is a great product and we no longer have to keep opening and closing doors for our pets to go outside. The insulating layer in the middle works really well to keep out the heat in the summer. The magnetic latch is also strong enough to always keep the flap closed not matter the weather.
