The Soul Searcher's Handbook: A Modern Girl's Guide to the New Age World

I was really excited for this book, but a few aesthetic drawbacks of this title kept me from reading it for awhile. Firstly, there are over 100 pages in this book and the book is fairly large. I do not mind soft covers, however the pages seemed to be made of low quality paper (like that of a child's coloring book). This may also be the reason for the VERY light colored print. I appreciate the design concept's attempt at having color, but for such low quality paper, the color saturation is horrible. It is very hard to read small print that is very light in tone. The side notes listed through out the book with a dark background and larger print are much easier to see.After getting over this and deciding the only way I could read this book is outside in natural sunlight in order to see the pages, I finally dived into the content. I very much appreciate the author's humorous take on this journey, but at some points it was a bit too much. A lot less chokes and trying to make friends, and get to the information, please :) Once I did get to the content it was very informative! I loved how Ms Mildon has explored so many different ways of spirituality and it really is helpful for the things I want to explore, or have explored and want to know more about. I also greatly enjoy the fact that I can use this as a reference and pick out just what I want to know more info on from the Table of Contents, and then go straight to it in the book without having to read previous chapters and miss out anything.Overall, I love this title, but I do hope for a redesign at some point to make it easier to see.

This book provides VERY BASIC information. If you are a true soul searcher, you will know everything that is already in this book. If you already know your calling, guides, spirit animals, past lives, etc., then you will not need this book. Keep your money. Being intuitive, I took a chance on this book being able to provide me with some form of knowledge that I did not already know. It failed miserably because my consciousness is more advanced than the book. There is also a lot of "borrowed" material that is not common knowledge to the reader. Such as all of the information on other modalities to help sensitives, such as meditation, yoga, etc. Honestly, you can look at these practices online for free and do not need this book to do that for you. This book was filled with a bunch of "fluff" and no substance. From the entire book, I was able to look at only two things in my life from an alternate lens, hence the two-star review. Other than that it fell very flat with me. If this is saying anything, I finished the entire book in one sitting since half of it I knew. I just skimmed across the rest. I honestly found her Goddess book more usable. We all have to grow as writers, and this clearly shows. When you are given a "download" of such material, make sure that you are hearing the entire message first before running to publish your book to bring in revenue. This book is an unfinished product which could have been completed correctly if you had sat and listened in meditation more.

I am absolutely LOVING this book so far. It is great for people like me who enjoy learning about spirituality and wellness techniques, but are also hyper-logical and therefore have a tough time subscribing to all of it. She breaks everything down in a funny and "real" way, and doesn't try to dress it up as something that it isn't. If something is odd or a little out there, she calls it out. She recognizes that some of the techniques that work for other soul searchers seem strange to her, just like some techniques that she uses might sound strange to us, and that's okay. I also love that she encourages her readers to embrace the weirdness. It's nice to suspend my logic for a bit and just have fun with it! Definitely recommend this one to any and all modern soul searchers. It makes me smile every time I open it!

This book is easy to read, hilarious at times and makes you feel as if you know the author. She is very personable and relates to you on a "normal" level. Sometimes when I read these kinds of books, the actions or activities they mention seem unrealistic or unattainable for the average person. However, her book is well thought out and considers how normal people live. This is definitely the best guide I have read and I appreciated that she researched soooo many different topics as well as put her honest experiences and opinions in it. It makes me feel relaxed versus stressed about trying new things and has opened my eyes to new experiences and reminds me to take care of myself. I am about half way through and am so excited to continue reading it, as well as book marking some activities or strategies for later reading.

AMAZING BOOK! For anyone who is wanting to learn more about new age spirituality and all of the things that can go along with it, this is your go to, need to have book. All of the different subjects in the book are easy to find and she gives a great description of each subject and many options. What I love most about this book is that she tells you to stick with what resonates with you and drop anything that doesn't. This isn't a cookie cutter "you must follow everything in this book" type of book. She gives you the knowledge of different things you can do to get closer and more intimate with your soul and lets you choose which you want to do. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for ways to feel more connected to your soul.

This is just the book I've been searching for and for a very long time! Yayyyy! It is a clear and concise handbook about Spiritualism and "how to do it" and introduces the novice (me!!) to the many avenues for which to find your spiritual side and how to explore it safely and mindfully. Sorry, I don't write the best reviews, but I do want to say this book came to me just when my confusion and questions about "which crystals do what" and "does Feng Sheui really work" and "should I make time to meditate" mounted to a fever pitch!This is an excellent book and I highly recommend it. Me encantó el libro! viene muy completo, con tips prácticos sobre: aromaterapia, piedras y minerales, feng shui, chakras, yoga, etc.

I so wanted to love this but... the text was off putting all these funny pryamids and symbols blocking text on the page (if your dyslexic this can cause visual disruption!)The author tries hard to be personable and human but to be honest I just found her tone annoying! I literally flicked through it. Although she opened up some good ideas and had wonderful suggestions I just couldn't bear it and won't buy any more of her work.If you don't mind the author speaking to you like she's your bestie on the couch and sharing boring tidbits with a lack of focus... you'll love it. :)

I'm sure this is a great book but I returned it as it wasn't 'right' for the person I was buying it for. What was great was the ease of returning it!!
