What are the dimensions once compressed? I have a 40l bag and I probably need the 45l bag to fit my sleeping bag.

It depends on the fill of your bag. I fit my 0 degree sleeping bag into the blue bag (medium size) and it compresses it to about half the bag size. Overall the compression sack when compressed was approximately 9” in diameter and 12” in length. I’m sure bag fill and bag size will make these measurements vary.

What size do you recommend for 4 days clothes for two people?

Totally depends on what you include for those 4 days. The "large" holds my standard sized sleeping bag. The "small" holds two small throw blankets in my car. The straps allow you to compress the vertical height significantly.
