Will the camshaft need heavier valve springs

did not put springs in and still works a year later

Will this improve performance if you just put it on the 150 without a big bore

On mine, I got a bit more torque in the lower end. If you're looking for a higher top speed, however, this won't do it on it's own. For that, you'll need more power out of the motor (cam, big bore) and to change the gear ratio in the back, probably new valve springs as well. That said, a cam and new final gears still won't increase your top speed alone, you really need that big bore. Short answer: improved performance? yes, better low end torque giving you a little extra acceleration. higher top speed? no.
