If you enjoy RAPE then this is your book!
This book disgusts me. The fact that these two amazing Authors, who wrote 5 star series (Northbrook) turned around & CHISE to try & make rape & abuse seem OK or even attractive. IT IS NOT!! I can't hardly believe they wrote this garbage!! That they would think that rape could be forgiven. That they would twist abuse trying to make it glamorous. Writing as If it's a turn on to be roughed up, pinned down or forced to comply against everything you hate could somehow turn you on & make you fall in love. GROSS !! EVERYTHING that Parker the (MMC) did to Willow (MFC) was basically sick & twisted. Any man who gets off by scaring, hurting, or controlling a woman is a sick SOB & NO woman after being treated like a door mat, being finger raped & blackmailed into giving blowjobs etc. Deserves to have his dick cut off & rot in Jail !! The fact that he stole her virginity & then blew it off like that was nothing shows he is a douchebag. In the end she should have run as far away as she could & never look back. Even tho the "Parker" personality in the end was good, NO man who is that twisted & sick can change on a dime & suddenly be good. I actually believed the (MMC)'s brother was innocent. When his true colors shown thru I wish the Authors would have had her kill him, or beat him within an inch of his life. After all he took what wasn't his & raped a girl with the help of his buddy. SMH. I'm not even sure I want to read the remaining books in this series. No Author should take pleasure in writing this garbage. I've read plenty of "dark romance" novels that don't glamorize Rape & Abuse but these two seem to think this is acceptable because it's "fiction" Newsflash it's not. I WILL NOT BE FOLLOWING either one of these Authors anymore. I am ashamed I've recommended their books to my friends & will take the remaining books written by them off the book clubs list. If they can't respect a woman & write books without abusing women (which seems to be all their books are about. Pain, abuse & rape) then pretending to be sorry or "innocent" then I have no desire or interest in supporting them. The fact they let the MFC be physically & emotionally abused -- then suddenly makes her in love with the perv. Psycho just infuriates me. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS BOOK OR THIS SERIES!! THEY WRITE GARBAGE!! I PLAN TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE READING BOOKS wether digitally on Kindle, electronically, or in hard copy ...that women Should I boycott their books!!#Not worth the paper it's written on!

10/10
At first I absolutely hated Parker for everything he was going to Willow. Her life was already crappy because of her father and he wasn't making it any better. But Willow unleashed a side of Parker that not even he expected. This book was so good and had me flipping pages so fast

Oh My Goodness
I was looking for a new series to read, and I must say this one sucked me in. I can't tell you how many books and series I had looked through before finding this one. The emotional rollercoaster this took me on was something unforgettable. I had already sent the series to a friend of mine before I even finished the first book.I love the carnal attraction between the two, and how you can sense it through all the hate. I love how they came together and got justice served. This book kept me on my toes, but I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. I look forward to reading the rest of the series!

Possessive alpha hero
J.L. Beck and C. Hallman write another book that had me hooked from the first page. This was a bully book with dark elements.Parker wants revenge on Willow for the mistakes that she has made. He believes that she lied, and he wants her to pay.Parker was a possessive a$$hole that rules everyone at the school. He is an alpha who is in charge, and gets whatever he wants. He does not let anyone, but him touch Willow.Willow shows up at Blackthorn Academy after leaving two years ago. She is trying to keep her sister safe by helping her father make business contacts.Willow was a pushover, and let all the men in her life push her around. She let her father control her actions so she could protect her sister. She did everything that Parker wanted her too. This book definitely had some hot scenes.Overall I really liked the story between Parker and Willow. They had this obsession with each other from the very beginning that just got stronger.I recommend this book to anyone who wants a dark bully Romance with possessive alpha hero.

So, so good.
"We’re chaos riding a slippery slope into hell, and if we’re not careful, we’ll both get burnt to a crisp."~Parker~The push and pull of these two characters is phenomenal. Parker is conflicted about what he's doing to Willow, but it doesn't stop him from doing it. To him, she has dues to pay and he's not going to be satisfied until she's broken.Willow just told what she knew and started a war between her and Parker. Her sister was attacked and Willow spoke for her sister. Little did she know the trouble it would cause. Going to that school was supposed to fresh for her, not almost life and death.I always thought if they would just TALK to each other, and stop with the bitterness, maybe things wouldn't have gone as far as they did. Have gotten as extreme. But, they don't talk, they argue, antagonize and push each other, and things get dark for them both.No matter what they feel for each other on any given day, whether it's hate, jealousy, lust or just wanting vengeance, they can't deny the attraction to the other, and that makes things so hard for Willow but also easier in a way.My heart breaks for both of these characters at times, because neither asked for this. Willow was trying to do the right thing, and now she's a pawn. Parker, also things he's doing the right thing. It doesn't take long for it go beyond revenge to something more. Parker fight with his heart and brain as much as he fights with Willow. There are some things in the book that may cause triggers for some readers so be cautioned for that. Parker and Willow were meant to be though, and none of the adversities will keep them apart.

good idea
I really like the idea of book, but I’am not sure I liked how it was written. This book seemed to me more like victim fell for her tormentor , I didn’t seen part where Willow actually fell in love with him or he with her, he’s just been obsessed and she become to like his toughness, but where falling in love? Where was that part? One chapter they hate each other and feel just list and obsession, next chapter they are in love, big chunk of story is missing. Also Brat’s end come to fast, he just was released from jail and suddenly he’s villain again and goes back to jail, too fast, seems pointless . Could’ve wrote whole another books about him going down. This book could’ve been stretched to 2-3 book series of written correctly , author had great idea, but squeezed everything in one book and it feels not right, big chunks of story missing, some important things come to end way to fast , feeling bit disappointed that I spend so much time reading this and it ended like this, basically what was told in beginning was true and whole book is pointless

Worth the wait
A really good stand alone bully romance. Loved the character of Parker and how the story developed between him and Willow. Lots of twists which kept me interested, actually read this in one sitting as I couldn't put it down! Quite emotional in places as well which is unusual for bully romance. I'm a sucker for these types of books, and really enjoy reading how the alpha bad boy falls for the girl he really doesn't want to fall for and all the angst before they get their HEA. Only critism if I was to have one is I wanted something bad to happen to their fathers because they so deserved it..... and we didnt get that it also felt a little rushed at the end but maybe that's me being disappointed the story was over. Can't wait to read Warrens story next

Middle of the road
I went for the middle option because while i was interested enough to read to the end, it wasn't without fault. First off it's still ridiculous to think people even act this way lol. Police not taking an assault seriously because the boy practically owns the place (eye roll) but ok that stuff does happen. Second off, are we meant to believe no one knows that his brothers a supposed rapist? And people still act like the family is royalty as opposed to being snubbed? Ok. Then the age old I hate her I want her, so il make her humiliated etc by degrading her threatening her....because that's how you make people believe not only is your brother not a rapist but none of us would make someone do anything they didn't want. Ugh it's just annoying but still as i read on it became more interesting and i wanted to see it unfold, it just didn't happen how I thought. SPOILER.. the whole ending of the mcs siblings? Totally unrealistic and was when I truly knew this was stupid no matter the storyline. Why would she confess something untrue then kill herself and write a note putting him back in the frame? Not only would he not get released as quick as he did ( within hours lol) he wouldn't then be also thrown bk in on the word of someone who was frankly unstable and deemed a liar. So again while it was an ok read it eventually became unrealistic and it made me frustrated

Amazing
ARC REVIEW 📚 Hating You by @authorjlbeck and @cassandra_hallman.📖 Following a testimony that sent a rapist to jail, Willows father loses important business contacts. Willow is manipulated by her father to attend Blackthorn and get those business contacts back - no matter how far she has to go to get them. The result if she doesn't, is that she will find her sister homeless. Parker watched her lie on the stand and send his brother down. It's more than hatred, he needs her to pay. He will take, take, take, until shes given him everything. And even then it wont be enough.. 🔥 This is a fantastic, deep dark book! Quite hard to read in places because of the turmoil between the characters- the dubcon is realistic and heartstoppingly painful, the betrayal, deceit and manipulation so raw and palpable. I really got emotionally tied to the MFC, and many times I wondered exactly how much more she could withstand. I liked how she wasnt a cocky strong bada$$ character, but not a delicate flower either, so it was quite easy to relate to her. The writing is good, although I felt the ending was tied up a bit too conveniently, I would have preferred a longer transition- even going back and engaging more on their childhood as they used to be friends etc. Overall however a really brilliant read and cant wait for the next!
