Game changer for splitting stubborn logs
Game changer for splitting those tough, super thick or knotted logs! My boyfriend finds himself using this often when splitting big logs for our woodstove throughout the year. It's extremely durable and great quality. Wonderful value for a product that will surely last a lifetime.

Great wedge
Great wedge. Need to use a saw to get the split started sometimes because it's not sharp, but that's fine. Worked great for me, split a bunch of logs with it and it's still going.

correct angles = good splitting
This is a good wedge. What makes it good? Its angles are correct, which means it easily starts and finishes a split. Many wedges sold on here don't have this feature - and if you have ever tried to split with one of those, you know how hard it is, as the wood resists the split and the wedge bounces out. Simple tools require the correct physical properties and this one does just that. Recommended.

The steel is not quite in the goldilocks zone, but it's close.
It’s okay and it does the job, but it does take a beating. There’s always a tradeoff with these, if it’s too hard, it risks chipping (which can be dangerous), too soft, and the head mushrooms out. This one falls somewhere in the middle but leans a bit toward the softer side. Maybe a 12-pound sledge isn’t the best match, but after a few dozen stubborn rounds, it’s definitely showing wear. Don't get me wrong, it does a fine job of cracking open wood, it's just that it will get beat up in the process. When it arrived, I hit it with some day-glo orange spray paint. A lot of it wears off, but even a bit of color makes it way easier to spot in a pile of wood.

Good wedge heavy duty but no good for starting the split just bounces. Has to be used in an established split.

Been using it daily on the occasional piece of softwood in the basement that is too large to fit the airtight stove. After A couple weeks of easy/occasional use ,compared to splitting hardwood for a whole day, the head is developing multiple cracks and is breaking apart ....
