LEM Burger Press
I selected this burger press as LEM products are very high quality. This press worked like a charm. All patties had the same diameter and thickness. The patties held together on the grill very well. I did use patty paper top and bottom while pressing them. All my burger meat was venison.

Awesome burger press
I read a lot of reviews that kind of question the build quality and I actually think this is a very well unit and it’s the new favorite item in our kitchen. Easy to adjust patty size. We do use wax paper squares to keep meat from getting crevices. This thing you can use.

Poor finish
This works. It gets the job done and makes nice consistent patties and has a wide range of adjustment for thin or extra thick patties. Do not expect no sticking in any of these presses, you pretty much must use paper squares top and bottom. Now for the bad. It feels really cheap and has rough edges from casting. It feels like cheap pot metal. Rough cast threads too. The non-stick coating is more like gray enamel paint. It doesn't matter though because you are going to use a square of paper top and bottom. After just one washing and drying by hand, the burger surfaces were forming a white metal oxide the next day. We've never had a water problem here, it's as mineral free as it comes. So I blame it on the low quality metal and coating. It might be prudent to wipe this down with a drop of cooking oil so there is no oxide to clean off for next use.

A great burger making tool
Forming a burger is not rocket science but I found this unit to be well made and sturdy and to do exactly as described. I would advise using the separator sheets on both top and bottom to avoid sticking to either surface – this also makes cleanup a breeze. I do weigh out my balls of hamburger to get them all the same weight prior to forming as this allows a single thickness setting to make a consistent finished product. After weighing, place separator sheet on the bottom of the unit, a ball of burger in the middle, a separator sheet on top and flatten the ball a bit. This centers everything nicely and then bring the top of the unit down and press. A little trial and error on the thickness setting for the first couple and you are ready to make burgers.

Awesome addition to the grill tools arsenal.
Restraunt quality equipment. I've tried the plastic ones and they break after a couple of uses. We tend to have lots of people over for "Burgers and Beers Night" so, going through 10# of hamburger is not uncommon. This press makes short work of the task, (more time with friends and beers :) ). I know people complain that the meat sticks to the press. To eliminate that situation, simply use a piece of parchment paper, folded in half. Put your meatball between the sheets and press. Easy-no sticking. This also helps keep clean up to a minimum, (you should still wash it after every use). I usually press out 5.5 oz, (~1/3 pound) patties and this does a great job for easy, consistent patties. Yes, I weigh each patty. Just remember: Use your thumb and "dimple" each patty before you gill them to keep them flat for even cooking.

The item works, however, I expected it to be heavier, or easier to use. I was previously using a plastic 2-piece press and found that I had to press very hard to form the patties tightly. This unit doesn't allow you to press as tightly as a 2 piece unit does. That said, my burgers have never fallen apart!

Low budget perfection.
This is a low budget way to make perfect patties every time. Had this burger press for at least 5 years, and you can make consistent patties time after time. Awesome deal! I highly recommend.
