SHIBUSA 2 (Almond, Peach & Ylang Ylang), Luxury Itallian TALLOW Shaving Soap, Formulated for Use with A Shaving Brush, Made in Italy

First time user of shave soaps, switching from Nivea shave gels. First off, it smells good, got here quick. I'm not really into tobacco portion of the scent though, that was on me for not noticing that portion of the scent layer, so I might order a different one and pass this one to my dad. I used this with an the art of shaving, which I believe is just a rebranded R89 closed comb handle and I loaded it with a hi-stainless steel feather blade. I applied preshave oil and then took aboutthe amount of the first half of a index finger amount and smeared it on the bottom of a rice bowl. (Now hear me out ..I know a rice bowl isn't ideal for mixing because it's a smooth surface, but it's all I have on hand atm). I let a proraso brush sit in warm water for about a minute before shaking off any excess and mixing, it took me a while due to the smooth surface of the bowl before it started to finally get a thin coat on the brush (the amount I used was only enough to make a thin but consistent layer brushed on my neck and upper cheek). What I like about this is that with my thumb, if the lather goes on thin enough, I can draw a clean line from my upper ear canal down to my lip line, following my natural cheek line to shave everything above the line. The shave itself felt smooth, I did have to do a few passes and redos because this was a first time using a feather blade after using a different one for a while, I didn't get any knicks or cuts and I didn't feel any drag that caused razor burn, on my neck I usually go against the grain about I reapplied for a second pass when most of my thicker week long stubble was gone, now that the shave was more on the skin is where it got interesting as the razor started having a satisfying glide, so for next time I know to go a little thicker on the lather for the neck. My neck feels baby smooth, I really like that I can control the consistency better than a gel, if there was an aqua version of this scent that opts out of the tobacco note I'd easily make it a regular purchase, but I've currently ordered another with the orange scent and maybe next time I might try the sea salt/lemon one. All-in-all, very satisfied with this.

Great tallow base. Of the three Goodfella's tallow based shave creams that I use, this is my favorite. All three create a thick long lasting lather that promotes razor glide and minimal irrational. This one has a pleasing fragrance that is similar to chocolate pudding. It works well and offers a close enjoyable shave experience.

Really like the scent, but wish it would lather up thicker, overall satisfied

Nice shave soap good fragrance that lasts the entire jar. Doesn’t do anything wired to my skin. Not the most lux I’ve ever had but for the price and availability it’s a solid soap.

The scent is amazing, the lather is great, I personally recommended and bought some for my friend getting into safety razor shaving if that's a testament to how much I support this product

I truly do not leave reviews often, but this soap deserves one. Hands down one of the best products I’ve ever used. Thick pillowy lather with only a little bit off the top and a good brush, slick as a greased pig in summer heat, and smells great. If you’re debating it, don’t. It’s absolutely worth it. I imagine this jar will last me a long time

OK shaving cream. Felt that other shaving soaps and creams have given me more protective lathers. Scent was not offensive.

Couldn’t believe the lathering created from this shaving product, made my double edge razor slide so smoothly with no cuts, no acnes and it smells so clean and neat, definitely recommend it.

I just love this one! It's definitely going in my rotation. Probably the best lather I've had so far. Wonderful sweet musky scent. Great glide. I highly recommend!

I was expecting this soap to be white in color (like the photo). The one I received is brown. Not much of a fragrance. Lathers ok.
