Sam Splint, 36", Orange & Blue

Recently I broke my wrist while running (llama and snake incident). I was able to hike back to the trailhead with my wrist up in the air, then drive home, then screamed out what I needed to my husband who grabbed a SAM splint from my hiking pack, fashioned it to give stability plus pulled out a sling, and only then we could think about acetaminophen, calling the doctor, getting a bag of ice. I keep one of these in each of my hiking packs, never thought I'd need one while running, and I couldn't have folded it myself as I was in such pain, but it's still better to have one than not. These things are so versatile, and SO sturdy.

The SAM Rolled Splint has proven to be an invaluable addition to my emergency preparedness kit. Measuring 36 inches, it’s long enough to be used for a variety of injuries, whether it’s a sprained wrist or a fractured leg. Thank goodness I haven’t had to use this splint yet, but I know how they work, and this is a quality brand — so I have no doubt it will perform exactly as it should. I keep one in my bug-out bag and another in my prepping cabinet. Living in a very rural area, it’s important to be prepared for any kind of accident since I’m quite a distance from an emergency room. Having gear like this just makes good common sense. This is definitely one of those items that belongs in every first aid kit or bug-out bag.

SAM splint is the best for immobilize extremities with you don't have a cast close by or you are in the middle of no where. Versatil ways of use.

This is legitimate SAM splint. If you need it, now you know. If you know, I hope you never have to use it. Mine live in my bags, they make really good foundations at the bottom of a bad to keep things in place. They also keep bones in place good. Make sure you know how to use it, then keep it with you. Remember, two is one, and one is none.

We love Sam splints! The roll just needs to be cut to the length needed. We use it on goat and sheep injuries and weak legs.

La férula es de muy buena calidad. Para que cupiera en un botiquín pequeño (camping), doblé la férula en un rectángulo en lugar de dejarla enrollada. En un botiquín “táctico” entra perfecto.

Habe den Splint während meines Feuerwehrsani-Lehrgangs kennen und schätzen gelernt. Es ist zwar ein theoretisch idiotendicheres Werkzeug, man sollte sich aber zumindest mal Tips bei Profis geholt haben. Gerade für Menschen die viel und abgelegen unterwegs sind, sollte es mitgeführt werden.

Ich war in 3 Apotheken und alle hatten diese Schiene für Notfälle nicht und kannte sie auch nicht. Dabei ist das Ding einfach genial und super leicht. Für unterwegs, zum schnellen Schienen von verstauchten oder gar gebrochenen Armen und Beinen gibt es meines erachtens nicht besseres. Der Nachteil das es vom Volumen nicht in das erste Hilfe Päckchen passt kann ich gerne verkraften. Zu empfehlen für alle die mit Gruppen von Kindern oder Halbstarke Ausflüge machen. Da kann immer mal was passieren und da ist man froh wenn man so etwas dabei hat.
