Wax Medium XD 16 oz Resealable Bag by Enkaustikos

This is an easy to use encaustic medium that has a harder and more clear finish than the standard premixed encaustic mediums. There is more damar resin in this medium, which gives a hard surface that is more clear and can be polished to a shine. It does not have that soft opaqueness of the traditional medium mix, so if you are looking for that softness, this would not be the medium to use. I use both types, but like this when I want a harder more clear finish. It is a little harder to work with and needs more heat to make it liquify than traditional mixes. I love the disks as they make it easy to melt just the amount I need. This is a good option if you don't want to mix your own mediums.

Phenomenal product! It is a lot more "clear" than the other medium I've used. It blends beautifully with colors.You might need to use a little more heat to get it to move and even out, and because of this you have to be careful about it bubbling really hot, so patience will be useful to anyone using it... but the results are worth it. Slow and steady wins this race! I love the high shine and sleek smooth finish this has after you've polished your piece. Two years later my pieces look beautiful and everyone loves them. I think it's one of my favorite products by Enkaustikos!

this is a great product. the "pucks" are a fabulous neater way to work than the small disks that come with other wax mediums that seam to find there way to everyplace but the location I want them to go. The finish is smooth and fabulous. Still working out the details on air bubbles ect.. but so far, it is great!
