THEY HOLD THE STRINGS IN TUNE
I used these on my daughters low end acoustic guitar which had horrendous tuners on it. They work well, easy to install, a little stiff to turn but the guitar stays in tune so they are worth the money.

Looks the same, only newer.
Now I just have to put them on. Wonderful.

Good for the price
If I had paid big money for these I would have been disappointed. They feel sort of flimsy but they do hold a tune. I got these for a school project and really don't care about the lower quality. The only part I was irritated about was I stripped out two of the screws and one of the screw heads actually broke off while installing these. I had drilled out pilot holes, maybe going a bit higher would have helped. I would recommend getting better screws if you want to install these on anything.

OK for the price
These were pretty straightforward to install, but boy are they hard to wind. Even after some DW40, turning these pegs is not very smooth. For the price they are OK, but this is a case of you get what you pay for.

great for science project
My son and I built a "guitar" out of a door threshold, nylon fishing string, a metal dogfood bowl, and these tuners. They did exactly what we needed and it was a fun project. I can't say how they would or wouldn't work in a real guitar setting, but they worked for what we neeeded.

defective
I havetwo where the running screw doesn't line up with the sprocket, I repositioned it and tried other things but no luck. But there's nothing worse than looking forward to playing with me strings and good equipment and something like this happens. There's a chance I installed it backwards, is this my fault or should a simple diagram come with it? 1 little piece of paper with a simple diagram. I've drilled holes in my guitar, spent time installing and troubleshooting. I'm a mechanic, so it's not like I'm inexperienced, but the arrogance of just sending something with no instructions......
