It’s OK
Well it arrived promptly, too quickly as I was out & I thought it would arrive the following day. I can understand why in a lot of reviews for this & similar pocket saxophones people say that they don’t work, the reeds supplied are far too hard for a beginner. I play the tenor sax & thought it would be fun to have one of these, but I found it impossible to blow - maybe I wasn’t used to the smaller mouthpiece, but I have played alto before. So I put in a softer reed & it blows OK - not easy mind, I think the mouthpiece is not that good. The sound is not really like a sax, far more like a soft clarinet, but now I can blow notes on the thing I think it will be fun. Nobody could complain about the price. So anyone who bought one of these & is struggling to make a note on it, I’d recommend getting Some 1.5 strength alto reeds (one can get three for just over £6 on Amazon). You should be able to get started with these.

Cheap rubbish.
Awful. As someone who is very musical and has played many different instruments, don't buy this. It barely works and it sounds awful when it does work. Imagine a recorder which someone has tried to put a reed in, not a mini saxaphone.

Nice learning tool
I bought this instrument to learn how to blow and play on woodwind instruments. It is the perfect tool for that purpose.

Not easy to play.
I bought two . My partner and I are both musicians playing a variety of instruments. We have both played the recorder in the past.( I am a flautist these days). We thought this instrument would be fun and easy to play during lockdown. Not so! The fingering chart is open to interpretation, it's difficult to get the same note twice, and we've no idea what key the instruments are in. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I possess a full size alto sax and it's easier to play than this!

IT IS MERELY A CHILDS TOY WITH NO TONE VARIATION
NOT WORTH THE MONEY I PAID FOR IT.

I have tried all of them. The top priced from the top flute makers and on down. They are really no different than this one in basic design. The higher priced you go, it seems the less holes they put in them to make it easier. This will play just like the top priced ones, but this one has more notes and is a little steeper in the learning curve because of it. The only reason to go for the higher priced ones is to get a specific octave. This will build your mouth muscles and fingers for the sax or you can just use this to sound like a semi sax and have fun. It works. Once you realize how to go up and down in scale, you will be able to play most songs by ear relatively fast. Anyone that can't produce a sound is doing something wrong. You must first learn how to play through a wind instrument and develop the correct muscles in your mouth to prevent squeaks. This is true with any wind instrument. I was able to play this and after about a week, play significantly most songs by ear. Not to a professional level but to a level sufficient to know what song was being played. It's going to take a little bit of effort if you don't have the natural talent. I see a lot of people leave bad reviews because they just don't have the patience. Unless there is a crack or some physical defect preventing you to play this, then it's you and not the instrument. That may sound harsh, but its better than the other way around since you can more easily fix yourself than the instrument.
