Great Product
I'll start off with some specs: -The straps are NOT 17 feet long like the item description says. It was actually just a little bit under 15 feet (about 14 ft 7 inches). -The rings are about 9 and 1/4 inches in diameter -The grip of the rings are about 3 and 1/2 inches around (circumference) With that out of the way, I'll say that these rings are great. The instructions are not perfectly clear on how to feed the straps into the buckle but on of the user images in the product images illustrated it as clear as daylight. This actually leads to the issue that a lot of people seem to be complaining about: the buckles. It's easy to ignore the instructions and try and feed the strap in the buckle using "common sense" however, that's more than likely the wrong way. If done in any other way than what was pictured in the user image I mentioned earlier, the strap will have a higher chance of slipping and causing you to fall on your behind of better yet, your face. It's hard to put into words exactly how the straps should be fed into the buckle so all I can say is look into the uploaded customer images in the product description page. Aside from that, I am a 135 lb male and I fully trust the equipment to be able to support my weight whenever I do exercises on it. The grips are not too big or too small. Also, the grips have a little bit of a texture on them so it's not very slippery if you want to do things barehand. Any type of workout gloves would be ok to use with it if your hands callous or tear very easily. Some reviewers suggest gymnastic chalk but I don't see the need to go that far and that specific. Also, it is true that the straps do not have any markings on it and this makes adjusting them to a perfectly even and matching level pretty difficult. However, this was easily solved with a ruler white-out. Just lay out the straps touching each other, side by side, and try to make them as even tip-to-tip as much as possible. then take your ruler and start marking by the each feet. I marked mine every 3 inches and wrote the number of feet whenever I come across a whole feet. This made a huge difference in how easy it was to start my workouts. Additionally, these rings are very inexpensive compared to "actual" rings they sell on like crossfit websites or something. It does what the other more expensive rings will do for a fraction of the price. All in all, I am happy with this purchase. It seems sturdy enough and I think that it'll last me a long time. By the way, this is the link to the picture that shows how to properly feed the strap into the buckle: http://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-media/permalink/mo2KEEJH037LV7I/B0031QCS8C/ref=cm_ciu_images_pl_link

5 Things To Know Before Buying This Set of Rings
I bought the black version of these rings about a year ago and have been very happy with them ever since. However, I think there are some things you should know before buying these rings. 1. They come with instructions about how to use the metal buckle: if you insert the strap one way it will slip; if you insert it the other way, it absolutely will not slip. I've found the buckle very solid and good, but inserting the straps the right way is a little counter intuitive. You'll figure it out; just take some care with it. 2. In my house, I have a loft with a 16 foot ceiling that I use to hang these rings. That works out perfectly for me. If you don't have a high ceiling or rafter to hang these from, you may end up hanging them outside. 3. Hanging these rings outside, from a tree, can be harder than you think. I found myself moving the ladder over and over to get them spaced out right, then having to adjust height several times. It worked out, but wasn't lightening fast. I'd say it's best if you can hang these in a dedicated place to not create any disincentive to using them. 4. The rings themselves are hard plastic. I put cloth first-aid tape on them to enhance grip. You may find you want to wear gloves or are just super tough. I go for gloves or the tape. 5. And perhaps the most important thing to know is that you're gonna want to master the false grip for many of your workouts, especially doing muscle ups on these rings. The false grip, in my experience, takes time and is kind of painful to begin with. So hang in there. If I were to add a sixth thing, it would be that these rings are really great and adjustable. I benefited a lot from watching tutorials online, as there are many progressions you can do to make having these rings worthwhile.

Great value for rings!
If you're looking for an inexpensive pair of rings that are still quality, here you go! Good grip, strong and easy to use straps. I was actually able to 'mount' these without any drilling whatsoever in my basement. I simply looped them over a beam with a folded towel between the straps and the bean to avoid rubbing/wear. I've read some reviews of the straps not holding properly. If this is the case you did it wrong. RTFM. :) Although they're plastic mine have *NO* manufacturing stink or greasy feeling that I've gotten with other fitness equipment grips. I've been doing the typical non-gymnast workouts including support holds, dips, pullups, etc... None have caused any equipment issues. Don't hesitate to buy these!

You get what you pay for
Well, I purchased these because I do gymnastic workouts and do not regret the purchase at all. They are very sturdy, I feel really confident on them, and they take around 2 minutes to set up wherever you're doing your stuff at and adjusting is really easy because the harness allows you to raise and lower the height conveniently. I was really satisfied with the integrity of this item, pretty simple design, but very efficient. My only problem with the item is that it costs like 60 dollars, but it beats having to pay $200 for stupid TRX bands which are an easier version of this. I gave it 4 stars because I don't like paying "like 60 dollars" for something so simple, but it's probably the cheapest set of rings you'll find and they are great.

good price, but buckle sucks
One buckle couldn't hold strap tight after a few uses even when these rings were taken cared of. I bought this set because I accidentally left my other rings (different brand) at the gym and someone decided to take them. My old rings were of excellent quality all around and the buckles never gave out! Comparing these with my other set: Pros: price and strap length wasn't extremely long like my old set Cons: narrower straps and narrower buckle. buckles may after awhile, not hold up against people over 190 lbs.

Great for Home Use or Outdoors
I have been lifting weights for 30 years and wanted to get away from all the weight lifting. I purchased resistance bands, but wanted a little more. these gymnastics rings were the answer. they definitely enable you to develop great upper body strength. No need to hang a bulky pull up bar in my basement. I screwed eye screws into a basement ceiling beam and hang the rings from there. no problems with the straps. It is amazing how many different upper body exercises you can do with the rings. I learned a lot of them on youtube. the main thing I love about the rings is that the instability of them is much friendlier on your joints than weight lifting. I have been able to overcome long standing joint aches and yet get stronger with the rings. Not having measuring lines on the straps is ok, I just adjust them and step back to check how even the rings look. I think in the future I will try to use a leveling ruler I have to see if that will help me make the adjustments quicker and more accurately. I love the rings, use them twice per week, and look forward to developing more strength and ring skills. When I travel, I will take the rings and resistance bands with me and work out outdoors or wherever appropriate. One thing that has helped me a lot when using the rings is using support underneath me - either from a chair underneath me or resistance bands for assistance. I am fairly good at pull ups, but using the support is great for developing further strength and completing the range of motion on some exercises. Because of this, I would highly recommend the rings for women or for persons who may not be so good at lifting their entire body weight. You shouldn't be afraid of using support - a chair, working from the ground, or resistance bands. You will get a great workout regardless.

works great for a heavy, heavy lifter.
I have been using these straps for about one month now once or twice a week with three gym partners. I am a 225lb power lifter. I have had no issues with slipping that others have reported. If you place the strap straight into the locking mechanism of course it will slip. I loop the strap over the back support bar and then back the opposite direction through the lock. We use the rings for pull-ups and ab work. The rings work great for different hand positions on pull-ups. The only negatives might be: the lack of measurements on the straps that come on a similar more expensive model, if you wear rings or metal on your shoes the rings can scratch slightly, and one of my locks is off alignment (not affected performance though). BE CAREFULL DOING DIPS ON THESE, EXTREMELY DIFFICULT due to the support muscle necessary which dont get used on fixed benches. I think they are a great buy at a great price.

Trustworthy, Lasts Long.
**2014** Amazing! I've had some acrobatics training and have a slim but very athletic build. So when I say I trust this buckle, it means I hang upside down, flip and do all sorts of crazy jumbo without fear of the buckle slipping. People who say the buckle slips are feeding the straps incorrectly (which admittedly I did at first too), if you look at the buckle an arrow shows how to feed it the right way. The rings are a little larger than I'm used to so even my friends with normal or larger hands find it comfortable to work with. The straps are long so I can hang it from a tree in my backyard, a strong support beam in my garage or basement. Great investment to my work out routine. I was getting tired of used a wobbly bar in the park which offered less freedom of motion. ***2021 Update Still holding strong! I don't use it everyday but when I do I have no fear of it breaking. Webbing doesn't look ripped or damaged. I do not use this in damp areas nor do I let it get wet. if you frequently use it on trees or take it up and put it down a lot on trees you might have to inspect the webbing more regularly.

Extremely durable, fantastic quality
Incredibly strong. The quality of the rings and the straps and the buckles are fantastic. You'll never have to worry about the straps or buckles breaking. The straps are quite long and adjust nicely so you can hang these in many different areas without worry. The rings are also separate from he straps, so if you ever want to replace the rings it is easy to do so. Ironically I have been hanging them from my pull-up bar in my apartment and it has been working so well. I have noticed a big different in my core strength and overall definition since I've started incorporating rings into my routine. They are perfect for travel also. They can easily fit into your luggage so you can take them everywhere you go. I would highly recommend these rings if you're looking for a good quality set.
