I bought this headgear to replace the upgraded headgear I had put into my fibermetal pipeliner. Let me start off by saying for my particular application I had to heavily modify my helmet, so going back to any previously used headgear is not an option. However, the headgear is cheap enough, and Kimberly Clark is a loyal enough company that I'm not too worried about worn out headgear not being available when needed. The headgear is very comfortable, the auto stop function works very well, strong enough to keep the helmet up even when looking down, but loose enough that with a quick movement of your head will send it down. I've had other headgear's that function with similar mechanics, but those wore out because they were cheaply made, just by the feel and by looking at it I can tell this one will last years longer. The headgear is very comfortable, and disperses the weight evenly across my head. The knob for adjusting the tension on the head strap is what I like the most though, it is big enough that even with large gloves you can turn it with ease, it also does not have to be pushed in before turning, which is another plus in my book. Definitely a great addition to my modified pipe liner, and if I ever have to I will have no problem buying it again.

Tired of welding helmets that in max size still perch on top of your head? This replacement head gear is a nice, relatively affordable way to find out if this is the brand of welding helmet for you. I bought this headgear just to sample the size. The adjustment knob was a pleasant surprise as I started cranking it out all the way, as it is the nicest one I have found on a welding helmet or hard hat to date. And when the headgear actually went onto my head, rather than perching on top, and didn’t even try to cut off all blood flow to my scalp, I knew I had found a winner. I liked it enough to hint to my wife to buy a helmet that uses this headgear for an anniversary gift. I’m loving the hemet just as much.

I used the the original “band” style headgear that came with my, everyday used, fibermetal hood and hated that it would never stay on my head straight. I also used the fibermetal ratchet headgear and it too soon became awkward since the ratchet wouldn’t stay tight and kept sliding off my head. This Jackson headgear is comfortable all day thanks to the pad in the back and the superb ratchet that keeps the hood on your head in all positions. To make this headgear fit my pipeliner all I had to do was enlarge the square holes on the hood to round 1/2” holes as explained in other reviews.

Got this as it seemed like a well built head gear with a quality knob to thighten it. My cheap head gear on my welding helmet broke so this seemed like a nice replacement choice. It did not fit for my helmet at first, so I drilled bigger holes to fit the pivot screw shoulder and added two tiny holes for the adjustment pivot bracket so it was positioned the right way to work with openning and closing of the helmet. After that, I tried it and it work very well. Pro quality. There is a nice clicked open lock position feature that holds up the helmet up. Then, just a little swing of the neck and it closes to start welding fast. Very well designed, rear adjustment knob is big and easy to reach and find with gloves on.

Very comfortable . Had to drill a little hole for the nipple that fits on side of mask . It didn't line up with original hole but no big deal . Good ajusting and hold mask up well.

Es buena y cómoda se mantiene donde la pones si soldar sobre cabeza la puedes bajar a la mitad u se mantiene sin problema no terminas cansado del cuello ni tienes problema de que se te esté bajando cuando estas haciendo otra cosa que es muy incomodo sobretodo cuando andas en alturas
