Chivalry is not dead! Central figures in Medieval literature, King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table still inspire many books and films today. Drawing on the legends of Camelot from French and English sources, Sir Thomas Malory compiled the drama of illicit love, the magic of sorcery, and the quest for the Holy Grail into a sordid and chivalrous tale that's been recounted for centuries. This beautiful leather-bound volume, with gilded edges and a ribbon bookmark so you never lose your place, will be a treasured edition of classic Arthurian folklore in any home library. Review: Deluxe Edition of a Classic at an Amazing Price - I’m assuming you’re familiar with the some of the stories surrounding King Arthur and his knights. This is, of course, only one version, but one of the later ones, and rightly considered among the best (although the older High Book of the Grail is perhaps more interesting). What’s remarkable about this book is for sixteen bucks you get an illustrated, well-bound volume that looks nice on the shelf and is a pleasure to hold in your hands. (I have no idea what the one reviewer was talking about concerning nudity in the illustrations. There just isn’t any.) Before Kindle, before trade paperbacks, people had the pleasure of books like this. This is not the version popular in Victorian times with the unsavory bits cut out, either. The Grail cycle is not an exemplar of sacramental marriage, for example. This is Christianity painted over an older culture and the chapel is never far from the Faerie. That complicated, dreamlike quality has fascinated people for centuries. Wonderful edition of a classic story of adventure, mystery, enchantment and strange tragic fates. Review: For Camelot - Love this book ..has pictures and a great leather binding

Beautiful but fragile design
As everyone else is saying, this is a wonderful book and is highly recommended to read. However, as much as this book is cheap for a book with such a beautiful cover design, the design can wear off pretty easily and quickly, so be careful.

A Classic for the Ages
The most influential story in history about King Arthur and Camelot! It never gets old nor does it lose its power over time.

Me likey
This is a classic book, Mallory apparently wrote this in the late 1400’s while imprisoned with access to a library containing prior tales of King Arthur from England, France etc. It has been the gold standard of reference material for scholars & authors, as well as readers since it’s publishing. The pages and binding are good quality in this edition, although the binding is slightly out of square (a little crooked), but overall a very nice look & feel. Great for the price.

Great book!
Another awesome leatherbound book by Canterbury Classics, this is the classic story by Sir Thomas Malory. Elegant gilded page edges and a royal blue ribbon marker. This book has a nice twelve page introduction, and black and white illustrations by Aubrey Beardsley. The writing style is in old English, and actually quite enjoyable to read when you get used to it. I also have The Story of King Arthur and his Knights from Barnes and Noble, written by Howard Pyle. Being new to King Arthur's ledgend, at first this wasn't quite clear to me, but the two are different enough to have them both. This Thomas Malory edition is a lot more complete and mature, while Howers Pyle's book was originally a children's novel.

A joy to own
This Leather-bound book is beautifully presented. With quality red Leather and Gold Gilded pages and a ribbon place marker. Weird maybe but it smells amazing (love the smell of Leather.) The paper is quality too, slightly yellow but thick stock. A volume that is built to last and will compliment any library. That said I've hundreds of books but this is only my second Leather-bound book and I'm very impressed. This book was written a century before Shakespeare and personally I love the prose. If you've ever read a King James Version of the Bible you'll easily get to grips with the style of writing. If not, don't worry you'll soon find the rhythm of it and it's easy to understand. The introduction is thorough and harder to understand in my opinion than the book itself! Get ready to experience some Great British aventures Mythology with King Arthur and his Knights Of The Round Table. The illustration work in this edition is outstanding. Highly recommended

Legendary but damaged...
The book itself looks and feels amazing, it was definitely made with love. Unfortunately, someone messed up and it got damaged... There is a tear between one of the first pages and the leather cover :/ There are also ugly scratches on the top edge of the pages. Returned.
