Oh hell yes
Probably the most hilarious thing out of Japan in awhile. My only complaints are...the device chews through batteries rather quicky (you'll get about 2 hours out of a 4 AAA's batteries) but that's easily defeated with two sets of rechargable batteriesThe ear socks and foamies it comes with stock are rather plain. (new ones are 14$ and up though)as far as the device itself, besides it seeming pretty fragile it works great! It's fun to see your emotions and thoughts displayed through the ears and how they react to different people. If i stick them on my 5 year old daughter, they almost permanantly stay up and tend to wiggle a lot until she gets sleepy. (yes they continue moving and reacting to your brain even when your dreaming...pretty neat) But on an adult they tend to chill out until they're intrigued about something.. also try scaring someone while they wear these (hilarity ensues)I can totally see these being next christmas' must have gift (=^_^=)

Really gross and defective.
There is a lot of some invited silicone, making all the softer parts sticky and disgusting. The black goop comes off on everything. I didn’t even want to put it on my head. The look is chunky and I ordered a second pair which also came actually broken with loose pieces and still covered in uncured sticky black gross stuff.

Very fun
I just gave these to my wife and she is enjoying learning to control them. The instructions are only in Japanese, but the pictures were pretty self explanatory. They can be uncomfortable if you are sensitive to pressure (they rest very snugly against the head), but I can't see anyone wearing them more than an hour anyway. They take 4 AAA batteries so if you want them to work when you put them on someone, make sure to put those in! The ears are the softest ever and the device was surprisingly light.Best Part: Our Shiba Inu watched my wife wear them and whenever they perked up, she thought we were trying to play and started bouncing around. The cats do not care, but they are cats.

Could be better but still a fun novelty toy
I don't really think it has anything to do with brainwaves as advertised as the movement seems to just loop/repeat after "syncing." All of those bulky pieces are annoying to hide for cosplay plus it's a bit heavy. For only taking AAA batteries the casing is huge, plus it chews through them so I highly recommend a good pair of rechargeable batteries. The motors that move the ears are also quite loud. It would be more worth it if they were less expensive. I am also lucky that I have a small head because there doesn't seem to be a way to adjust them- also the ears "hover" a little and don't sit quite flush to my head with the band. The foam ears they came with are also just faux fur covered triangles with no depth so in the near future I plan to make my own for more realistic looking ears. I had expected more based on how they were advertised but they are still a fun toy.

neat
These are neat. Takes a few minutes to calibrate, but then they started working as advertised. Only complaints are that they are noisy and the ear clip hurts after awhileUpdate: I liked these so much, I bought another set for my wife to go to anime events. I don't have enough hair to hide the mechanism, so I bought a wig. To my surprise, it continue to work through the holes in the wig. I guess since the ears never wrap all the way around, it doesn't get tangled in the hair. At anime festivals, there are always a few panels where a local professor discusses Japanese culture. I like standing at the back of the room with the wig and ears. It perplexes the professors to see the ears move.Unfortunately, the ear clip is made of cheap plastic. The plastic bearing broke on both sets after a year. The price seems to have doubled since I bought them, so I am attempting a repair using eyeglass washers, rubber bands and epoxy.Update: The repair worked.. The real problem is that the spring inside the ear clip is way too powerful. When you wear the ears, it actually hurts your ear after awhile. Anyway, that spring actually pulls the ear clip apart. I don't know this for a fact, since both my sets have broken ear clips, but I think if you wrap a rubber band a couple of times around the end of the ear clip so that the contacts are barely touching, the ear clip will be under compression and less likely to fall apart. They will also be more comfortable. The way my ear clips shattered was that the half with the inner bearing was fine. The half with the outer bearing had the top of the bearing crack off. So, I made a new shaft by cutting a paper clip with a set of pliers. I thread the shaft through the clip half with the good bearing and placeed that on top of the half with the broken bearing. Then I put 5 minute epoxy on the outer portion of the broken bearing and slid eyeglass washers on either side of the shaft pushed them against the epoxy coated bearing. So, the epoxy is going to bind the washer, the shaft, and broken bearing together. I held it in place for 4 minutes, then kept tapping the clip in case some of the epoxy leaked onto the inner bearing. Didn't want that glued together. After setting overnight, I just wrapped a rubber band 3 times over the shaft to provide the tension. You can scootch the rubber band a bit to adjust the tension. Discard the original spring. It was the cause of the problem in the first place. Just use the rubber band. This repair has held up for 2 anime events so far and still seems good.
