It works exceptionally well for me. I have a great setup
I bought this antenna to see if it would provide at least a decent enough connection with campground hotspots. I paired this with some good WiFi (n male to n female?) cable and a Alfa AWUSO36NH High Gain USB Wireless G / N Long-Rang WiFi Network Adapter, and I have been very pleased with this set up. At one campground I was about 125 yards from their router which was inside of their building. Couldn’t connect with my laptop, but had full signals with the antenna propped on a picnic table and pointed towards the office. At a campground in Tok, Alaska, I was quite a distance (about 250 yards?) from their router, and was told that there was no internet signal in my section. I sat up the antenna on the ground, pointed it towards where I thought the office was, and got a decent enough signal through many rows of trees and through other campers. If I had the antenna higher I’m sure I could have streamed video. I told the manager the next morning that I was able to connect. She was surprised and asked how. I just said that I had a directional antenna 😉. Another time, in Canada, a campground had a very, very, weak signal from only about 30 yards away. I put the antenna on top of my travel trailer’s slide out, aimed it towards the office, and had a full signal. I watched a NetFlix movie that night. I’ve even used the antenna with it sitting inside on my camper table, pointed at a campground office or a Walmart, and had excellent results. There are many more examples, but one final example is a test I did before taking the antenna out on the road. I lived in a mobile home park by a bay and was the 3rd lot from the water. Across a small section of the bay is a peninsula with a city park. I went there and hooked up the antenna, aimed it towards where I thought my mobile home was (about 300 yards away), and, across the water, and through some mobile homes, I was able to connect to my router That was inside my mobile home and I was able to stream video. So... I’ve had very good luck with this antenna, and I would buy it again. Things I don’t like is that it’s large and bulky. But that’s why it’s so damn good. When it comes to antennas, size matters. As does the antenna gain, which this one is 24 dbi. And use the best and shortest amount of cable you can get and afford; you get what you pay for here. You’ll also need a network adapter, and I highly recommend an Alfa AWUSO36NH High Gain USB Wireless G / N Long-Rang WiFi Network Adapter. Don’t forget to purchase a cable adapter for connecting your WiFi cable to the network adapter. I’m looking to devise a mast for the antenna for traveling, and/or a tripod.

Great wifi antenna that gets the job done!
I am very happy with the TP-Link antenna. I am using this antenna with the Alfa AWUS036NHR adapter and the Alfa R36. My wifi source is about 1 mile away and I get solid reception where I can browse the internet quickly and watch netflix on all my devices. If I really wanted to improve my setup and lose less signal, I could get high quality, expensive LMR-400 cable and shorten my 33 feet of cable. However, I am very happy with my wifi and don't need to do that. I would definitely recommend this antenna. Here is a tip for people using this antenna with an Alfa R36 router: Take off the cheap, small, weak generic antenna off the Alfa R36 router and replace it with a much stronger 8 dbi antenna (TP-LINK TL-ANT2408CL) which is only around 7 bucks. I even threw a can on top of the antenna for the extra boost. There is a huge improvement in wifi reception to all my devices as the MBPS pretty much doubled. No more huge bills from Optimum cable anymore!

Bad instructions; Good product (IF you have the right adapter)
This works very well if you use the right wifi adapter; though the instructions for antenna assembly are atrocious. These are either the second or third worst instructions I've ever encountered. And this is not my first rodeo. I've hacked through the obvious 'Chinese to English using Google' type of instructions in the past. (Some of those actually have the redeeming value of being hilarious to read out loud.) Admittedly, this is not a complicated assembly. However, the one page instruction "booklet" that is packaged with the product wield be better if it was just replaced with an image of the assembled product (displayed at a good angle, of course.) Instead, you get a perfect side view (which makes discerning orientation impossible due to the complete lack of a dimension.) The image has some helpful labeling, followed by four steps written in broken English. It boggles my mind how instructions that could be easily rewritten by a ten year old consistently accompany so many tech devices. NOTE: I originally connected this antenna to a Rosewill RNX-N600UBE dual-band wifi adapter. I was sorely disappointed. I could see the presence of many more APs than with any of my other antennas; including two Yagis I had made, which both worked quite well (15 & 20 element.) Yet there was no noticeable increase in any AP's signal strength. Note this thing is BIG, so I was really irritated after having put in the work to assemble and mount it. only to find no real benefit over anything I already had. And the others are pretty compact antennas, unlike this one. In a last-ditch, "what-if" attempt, I replaced the Rosewill adapter with my Alfa AWUS036NH. That did the trick. It literally doubled the signal strength of almost every AP that it was picking up. So for those of you not seeing the results you were expecting, maybe trying a different adapter could improve your situation. P.S. The "Frequently Bought Together" section has an RP-SMA Male to RP-TNC Male cable adapter. This is probably NOT what you want. It will not fit on the antenna's N type female adapter. You will need an N Type male to RP-SMA adapter. Connect the adapter directly to that if you can (unless weather is a concern.) The shorter the cable, the less signal loss you'll experience.

As good as it gets for 2.4 ghz wireless
As others have mentioned, this antenna does not come with directions to assemble or install. They are readily available on the TP-Link website though. The antenna seems well enough made. In my case, I used it to improve the connection to our local WISP. At 11.5 miles to the AP, the antenna performs admirably. My signal to noise ratio improved about 10 db over the Arc Wireless 19db panel I already had. Of that, about 6 db came on the gain side, and about 4 db came from reduced noise as the narrower beam width of this antenna shields out additional interference over the Arc Panel. I should note, polarity is Vertical when installed as shown in the pictures at Amazon. This is the correct position to connect to most consumer products. However, if you use these to connect to some hot spots or WISPs, you may need to turn the antenna 90 degrees to use Horizontal polarity. There is a 20 db difference between polarities so if you have it wrong for your situation, you will be down 20 db of the 24 already. If you use two of these to establish a long link, then using horizontal polarity has the added benefit of quieting all the Vertical polarity consumer "noise" by an additional 20 db. Bottom Line: This is a great product, and you can't buy better for the price.

Long Range But Little Width
Not quite as strong as the description indicates. Also it is extremely targeted. I was making 1/4 inch turns (or less) trying to specifically target the modem to get the best signal and I could see the difference in signal strength with micro changes. However, all difficulty aside, I was able to use it and utilize the internet with my setup.

Great Antenna
First, our situation. We live in a rural area. We only have one internet service provider that is in our area. They only offer a 2Mb download speed, on a wireless modem. We are lucky if we can get 1Mb or more out of it. I own a business about 2.5 miles away. There we have cable modem with around 60Mb down load speed. I read a little about the using an antenna to do point to point wireless connection. So, after getting very frustrated with our home internet, I purchased two TP-LINK TL-ANT2424B antennas, two TP-LINK TL-WA7210N AP units, a few cables, and bits and bobs for mounting the antennas and grounding them . I was lucky in that I have a close line of site from my work top my house. I have a few power line and some trees a bit in the way. I cannot see the antenna from one place to the other with a monocular, but I can see the building. I installed the antenna and AP unit at the work building. Pointing to the house. I Set the AP unit to a static IP and entered the AP name and MAC address for the unit I was going to install at my house. The quick setup for the TL-WA7210N was very easy to use. I then set the unit of at my house. Again making sure it was pointing the best I could to the work building antenna, at least in the right direction. I entered the AP name and MAC address of the AP unit at work. I was very surprised and it connected right away. After a few tests I had great signal and great speed. I made a few adjustments to settings on the AP unit. I do not have the full 60Mb down load speeds, but it ranges greater then 35Mb up to over 50Mb. So, I am very happy. Worth every penny!
This arrived packaged neatly and was rather intuitive to assemble. It works 100% to the specifications advertised! There are a few 'gotchyas' if you live in an area with lots of clutter (trees, brush, homes, hills, etc) You need to be able to clear the fresnel zone for the bulk of the clutter on the average terrain. Objects in your path will not only attenuate signals on the other side of them, but they will also reflect/refract signals on the same side. If there are several wifi devices in your area, this can cause a cloud of interference that would all but cover up any devices you might otherwise reach through the clutter without the interference. If your aim is to create a long range link between two specific places, height is key in minimizing interference and attenuation. If your aim is finding open hotspots in a densely populated neighborhood, then you might get by with simply having it on a 5 foot mast, or even aiming it out the window of a spare bedroom. In most all cases, you WILL see MANY MORE wifi devices using this antenna. Just be aware that you will pick up signal reflections from all directions rather than a straight line when you're aiming through trees.

Amazing Out Door Antenna
After receiving this antenna, I'm a bit frustrated due to unexpected size, which mean larger than was thought. I didn't expect the size after having 5.8Ghz grid parabolic before this antenna. Then I did the evaluation test after complete the installation. My previous feeling was compensated by this antenna performance. This antenna really cool, works great! Connecting them to TRENDnet TEW-L202 and Alfa AWUS036NHA, surprisingly my notebook has captures the university campus hot-spot signals which located more than 1km from my home. More than 20 Wifi signals were detected a part of that.I don't look after them except the university hot-spots, both of them successfully connected by this antenna (2-3 bars/5 after connected). The test begin by playing a HD cartoon channel from YouTube. The streaming was so stable and no disconnecting even after 1 hour. Highly recommended this antenna if you don't afraid a giant pan dish size on top your roof. The built quality is just fine, but I found my 5.8Ghz from Aliexpress was much fine finish and better built quality than this one. You get what you pay.No installation guide included in this package. You must have a basic knowledge how to assemble parabolic grid antenna.

ANTENNE DIRECTIVE WIFI

Strong and does what its paid to do
Nice unit, and it holds it self after a year of service 45 feet in the air in the cold and hot Canadian weather. For distance...well any common since dude guy knows WI-fi will only travel max a block are two so don't hope to get 2 mile range Even with alfa 2 watts amp. Im able to view tons of hot spots with this Sat but getting any speed on wi-fi more then a block away...good lucky. Not so much because of the antenna it self but because of the wi-fi.limits. For me this would makes the best antenna i could buy for my money, compare to others. Remember its a good size and its made to be outdoors. If you want antennas to work proper write to your local MP or governor to let average joes higher watts of power limits for public use...have fun with internet providers...
