I needed 2 pieces of maple to make small shelves for the end of a maple upper kitchen cabinet. There aren't many places to get hardwood anymore, but I was a little worried about buying it online. I was also worried about the size of the wood. Was it 6 inches wide or 6 inches nominal (5 1/2 actual). 3/4 thick or 3/4 nominal (1/2 actual) ? The wood measured at 3/4 x 6 x 12. All dimensions in the ad were the actual dimensions. And no dings, and well sanded, and flat. And perhaps the reason I took a gamble, it had free shipping. Very happy. I later placed a 2nd order for two 3/4 x 6 x 48 pieces of maple. They just arrived, and were just as nice as the first 2. They laid flat on the kitchen table. No bow over the 48 inches. Laying them on top of each other, there was a tiny cup of about .01 inches over the 6 inches, which is almost perfectly flat. VERY HAPPY with every thing I've gotten.

I bought this and maple hardwood along with their cherry and dark walnut boards of the same dimension. This boards were all symmetrical and high quality finish. I bought these board to make a 3-D cutting board. Still a work in progress but looking good.

Nice piece of wood. Expensive - yes. But I'd have to drive 100 miles to the nearest hardwood dealer so the price is worth it.

The wood had been roughly planed and arrived pretty flat. No major defects. I waited a couple of months to allow for additional drying and both pieces warped (sides high by about 1/8”). Not easy to flatten by hand - I’ll make it work. Buying wood online is expensive and kind of hit or miss. This was an ok buy.

These boards will complement the cutting boards I will be working on soon for my kids.

They were very well padded and packaged. They measure the full dimensions listed and are finished smooth on all sides. The grain and color are wonderful. I will be using them for shelves, and I had planned to contour the edges with a router and then apply stain and polyurethane finish. They are so beautiful, I am now thinking of just a fine sanding, then breaking the sharp edges and applying a clear polyurethane. They are truly premium lumber at a reasonable price.
