Premium soup, but watch the salt
I have long been a fan of Chunky Soups, especially the Healthy Request sub-brand. I like the stew-like texture and the fact that several are high protein/low fat. Since our local stores carry a limited number of varieties, I have taken to ordering from Amazon. One can is about right for my lunch. Lately I have noticed a high salty flavor in these soups. I don't know if Campbell's has changed the recipes or whether I have become more salt-sensitive. The labels on some varieties shows about 900 mg of salt per can. Thus, I don't eat these as often. Consumers on a limited salt diet should be aware of the high level.

This is a sausage soup. Period.
i have to say, as a soup lover of the Campbells Chunky line, I am not thrilled with the Sausage Gumbo. Putting chicken with sausage is like putting eggs with jalapeno peppers. The chicken disappears and you taste the sausage. If you love sausage, you will love this soup. If you want the chicken flavor, buy the other chicken flavors such as creamy dumplings. Which are smashingly delicious. Yes, this is salty. But again, sausage is always salty. For me and for a shade of health better, I personally stay away from any sausage in anything. Then again, you really cannot taste the sodium in pizza, but the average frozen pizza has about 3000 mg of sodium in it, which is 50 percent higher than adults should consume in a day. Even though you can tasted the salt, there really probably is not enough in there to be really bad for you. It comes down to if you are a sausage lover or not.

No mumbo jumbo, this is pretty good gumbo.
Let’s face it. Making homemade jumbo is a lot of work. At my house, no one likes it but me. Cajun restaurants are far away. So, I make it once in awhile for myself and eat it for a week. This jumbo is heart healthy and convenient. Local grocery stores don’t always stock it, so I buy a few cans at a time. The price here is very good and I recommend this product.

Gombo is really good .
A friend turned me on to a can and it was really good . I recommend it for a quick fix if you like Gumbo .
