Air compressor - a happy bunny
I’m getting fed up with air pumps at petrol stations and plugging a compressor into the car. This is easy to use, it’s fairly light and tyre pressure is very accurate. Great machine.

"Compact and Powerful – Perfect for Inflating on the Go!"
First Impressions: I picked up the Makita DMP180Z 18V Li-ion LXT air compressor for various tasks, and it’s been a great tool. The compact size and cordless design make it super convenient for inflating tires, sports equipment, and even air mattresses. Plus, the 18V Li-ion battery ensures reliable power without being tethered to a power outlet. Design and Build Quality: The Makita DMP180Z is built with the usual Makita quality—it feels solid and durable. It has a comfortable grip, and the design is lightweight, making it easy to handle for longer periods. The battery lasts a decent amount of time and recharges quickly, which is a huge plus when you’re on the go. Ease of Use: The air compressor is super easy to use. Just attach the nozzle, set your desired pressure, and press the trigger. It’s as simple as that. The LED light is useful for working in low-light conditions, and the auto shut-off feature ensures you don’t overinflate anything. Performance: This tool performs excellently. It inflates tires and other items quickly and efficiently. The maximum pressure of 150 PSI is more than enough for everyday tasks. The dual-function (for both high-pressure and low-pressure applications) means it can handle a variety of inflatables, and it’s never left me disappointed. Value for Money: For a cordless air compressor, this is good value. It’s affordable, yet powerful and reliable enough for most tasks around the house, garage, or on the road. The Makita reputation for quality tools makes it a safe bet, and the battery compatibility with other Makita LXT tools adds extra value. Pros: ✔ Compact and portable—ideal for on-the-go use ✔ Cordless design for ease of movement ✔ Quick inflation and dual-function nozzle for various tasks ✔ Long-lasting Li-ion battery with fast recharge ✔ Auto shut-off feature for convenience Cons: ✖ Not the most powerful option for heavy-duty use, but great for everyday tasks ✖ Battery and charger sold separately—so check compatibility if you don’t already have Makita tools Final Thoughts: The Makita DMP180Z 18V Li-ion LXT is a compact, reliable tool for anyone needing an air compressor for light to medium tasks. It’s perfect for inflating tires, sports gear, and more. Highly recommended if you’re already using Makita tools or want a portable, efficient compressor. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5 stars) – Compact, powerful, and perfect for everyday use!

My inflated opinion
Forget the cheaper 12v plug in tyre pumps. They are awkward to use, slow to pump, and for fiddly to pack away. This machine uses no wires to plug in as it uses the universal battery that I already have in my drill/driver and hedge trimmer. Very convenient and plenty of power. The valve adapter has a lever seal so no screw on seal. You can see what you’re doing by the integral light. The gauge is easy to read and is backlit. Use the plus/minus buttons to set the pressure and pull the trigger. Unhitch and move to the next tire. The hose fixes neatly to the side of the pump housing. The drawback is that you have to ensure you have a charged battery attached. The advantage is that you don’t need your car on the beach to inflate your dingy.

Fast, accurate, really easy to use
Bought this to replace a cheaper unit and it's a real joy to use, we mostly use it for karting and the 0.5 psi increments are very handy not to mention the commonality of battery with other tools such as impact driver. It's noticeably faster than our previous unit and seems to be more accurate. Really wish we had bought it 6 months earlier!!!

Excellent product and excellent value
Wish I had bought this early it has saved me so much time and effort and as I use makita as my chosen brand I alway have a fully charged battery to use with it. Inflates in no time at all.

The usual great Makita quality
I already have a number of Makita 18v batteries and chargers, so when I needed a portable tyre inflator, buying this was the obvious choice. This is a bare tool, with no batteries or charger. As with all Makita tools (I have loads), it's a great piece of kit, well made and I'm sure from experience will last me a long time. I've yet to have to claim on anything I've bought from them and I've been using their tools (both as a professional plumber and at home) for at least 20 years. If you're buying one, make sure to go onto the Makita UK website within 30 days and you can get their three year warranty, free of charge. All you'll need to do is register your account, put in the necessary details of the tool and upload your invoice to their site. There's a few comments about the pressure gauge not being particularly accurate, but personally I use a stand alone gauge to check everything, so this isn't something I'm bothered about. I just wanted it to save my old knees from my foot pump. To sum up, I have no hesitation in recommending it to you. Just beware that when you get a few batteries, there's a whole world of other tempting bits of kit available that your wife, er, oops, sorry, you... never knew you needed...! I hope this is helpful to you.

I was able to get rid of a large air compressor from my garage (along with buying a credit wrench). it saved so much space in the garage. This Makita air inflator is so easy to use without the inconvenience of unrolling a 30 for hose and starting up and emptying a large compressor. I love it. I have been using it for car and truck tires, bicycle tires, motorcycle tires and lawn tractor tires. The various attachments work well and the main attachment point is small enough to fit in some tight spaces on motorcycle wheels. It locks on tight. The air pressure gauge is precise, but not accurate. Compared to two Snap On Tools manual tire pressure gauges, the gauge seems to read 3 psi lower than the manual gauges. So I just set it to 3 psi more (e g set it to 35 psi when I want 32), and things are good. I’m happy with how long it takes to pump everything up and I’m ok with having to hold the button down the whole time, though a press and release button would be better. I’d buy it again and have recommended it to friends.
