JOYO Compact Wah/Volume Guitar Pedal, 6-Mode Sweep Range & Adjustable Q Control, Active Volume with Minimum Knob, True Bypass in Wah Mode (WAH-II)

I got this to replace a Behringer Hellbabe that replaced a Cry Baby pedal that died. The Behringer was horribl noisy and I sent it right back. This pedal, however, was great right out of the box. I got the power supply at the same time, and tested it for about an hour as soon as I got it. Construction is solid, pedal action is positive and very stable, and, unlike the Behringer, no noise at all - very quiet, ver stable, and very predictable, which will translate to very useful. I like the controls and the two mode settings: wah/volume or wah/bypass. Switching in the first one turns on the wah with a very bright set of green LEDs which leave no doubt the effect is live. Use the toe switch again. the LEDs go off, and you are in volume pedal mode, a very handy and functional way to set it up. I did not try the wah/bypass setting, as I will probably want the volume pedal mode most of the time. I played a bit with the Q and Range settings, and there is a lot of room for experimentation here to get the kind of sounds one might want. There is a wide range of possible combinations of these two settings, pickup settings, and pickup tone settings, which give a lot of room for finding useful tones and wahs. I am also impressed by the instructions and the power supply. While not perfect English, they are much better than usual from our friends in Asia, and the power supply seems well built and useful. All in all, I am quite happy and will be looking more closely at Joyo gear in the future. I have already been looking at their small tube amps, and that may be my next buy from them. Good job, Joyo! I am quite pleased.

The adjustability of volume level, Q factor, and sweep are all nice features on this multifunction wah, but would they matter if it didn't sound great? No, it wouldn't. Fortunately we don't have to worry about that, because this thing DOES sound great! You can dial in classic Cry Baby, Vox, and Morley sounds, and set the adjustments to be your own dream wah. With the toggle switch mounted on the side, you can choose whether it's a stand alone wah (bypassed), or a volume when the wah is off. In volume mode, you can set the volume floor from silent on up, so you can use it for artful swells, or as a base level, and lead boost - very cool. A pedalboard friendly size, and a rugged build without being a boost anchor really help make this a winner, too. Great value, sturdy build, and great tones, highly recommended!

I just received the Joyo Multimode Wah II. So far, overall, it's a pretty decent pedal. The real acid test will be using it with my band, with it mounted on my pedal board. Right now I've just been playing with it sitting on the floor. In this position, I think I'd find the size mildly annoying (size 10 shoes) as my heel can "ground out" before getting the treadle all the way back. But when it's mounted on my pedal board, which is about 1.25" high, I think it won't be an issue. As for features/functions, I like it! The configurable wah is great, very usable. The throw on the volume pedal function is pretty logarithmic, but I can deal with it. As for wah sound, some wahs seem to almost sound like a switch is flipping in the middle of their range...i.e., the "ooo-wah" is really abrupt, but in this pedal, it seems quite smooth. My biggest concern, however, is that your signal appears to lose a little bit of "oompf" when you engage the wah. It's most noticeable on lower frequencies. The wah appears to be a bit too "subtractive", i.e., as it pulls out certain freqs, your signal loses some volume. It certainly does in comparison to my Crybaby. I think the Joyo folks need to look into this. I think it would benefit from an adjustable volume boost built in. I'm hoping the mfg can respond to this...if not I'm going to have to return it. [EDIT] I have returned the pedal. The slight loss of volume/gain when wah is engaged was a deal breaker for me. If not for that issue, I would have kept it and really enjoyed it.

Both volume and wah work very well. The wah has a very nice range of sounds, the volume is also smooth and no loss of volume. It works well. Not necessarily cons, but things one should think about maybe. 1) the treadle is small. I find when using it at home with just socks on it is not easy to use. I think with shoes on it will be easier, and also may just also be that one has to place the foot a little differently than one does on a normal size wah. 2) true bypass in wah mode only. They aren’t hiding it, it’s in the description, but this means the volume pedal is active and if you use fuzz with it it might not work as well. In wah mode it is TB. This may be no big deal though. 3) But I should have realized one drawback is…say you have the volume set for the volume (and with dirt, he amount of gain/OD/fuzz you want) and then switch to wah. The wah is with volume=10, full volume so if dirt after it’s going to be very dirty. One could adjust guitar vol to compensate, and set back to ten when you turn it off. Also maybe that is what one wants when going to wah. Otherwise if those things aren’t a problem, this pedal is great! It does the job. Love that you can also set volum for the minimum you want, so if I to swells set to 0, if you want more range (at least I think it is more range) can set it higher so you say go from clean-ish rythm sound to full on dirt (through an OD) and all points in between. I have only tried it so far both with guitar into it and on into dirt, and also with guitar into fuzz into it (which works well, I set the amount of fuzz with guitar volume, and it just changes the volume, not the tone/fuzz).

I’ve been playing guitar for almost 30 years. I’ve owned countless Wha’s and am well versed in pedals. Needed more space - replaced a CryBaby due to size. This pedal is roughly 6.5x3” and wow! Endless tones and options, very impressed. I honestly like this more than most of the major brands. You can actually get a solid volume swell better than my Dunlop. There is room to move on both volume and wha… not like most smaller pedals. If ya don’t need a Harley footrest when you use your wha then the size is very easy to get usto. When credit it due…

The pedal sounds great. It's a shame I bought mine and it came broken.

Great value on four fronts 1) this is my favorite volume pedal on the market. The fact that the volume range is adjustable is money… I’ve never wanted a volume pedal to go all the way to zero and this has an easy adjust nob so you can chose if you want the open face position to go all the way to mute, just down to 50% of max volume, or anywhere in between. Just nit picking a little… I wish I could adjust it to go from 70-100% of max volume to allow for more fine grained adjustment 2) the wah sounds like it is supposed to (aka it sounds the same as much more expensive pedals) 3) the size is great… much smaller than the old “full sized” wah’s but a little longer than my mini thus making it a little more comfortable 4) it’s is both a vol and a wah that is cheeper than than a single wah or a single volume pedal Basically… if you’ve read this far… just buy it. About me… im a local level player with 30 years experience who gigs regularly and has played at least 6 wah pedals over the years

I was playing guitar in grammar school 1965 -66 when the first Was Wah pedal came out. It was made by Vox. The way they advertised it was incredible. Vox took a full page add out in a music magazine. It had pictures of endorsing artists Beatles act and on that page that was made out of plastic was a floppy record. It was the size of a 45 RPM with a small LP hole. You had to use scissors to cut it out and place it on a record player. Not only could you see a great commercial now you were about to here what this new big deal was bye playing the audio commercial that was printed on it. I can still remember several passes on that commercial. You could make your guitar GGGRRRrowl Laugh or Cry. Incidentally it was called a "Crybaby" What makes this pedal an improvement is.... there is a selector knob with 6 separate clicks. Each click can memorize a unique sweep of the midrange frequency. To put it in simple terms... this pedal is like owning 6 separate W/W/P's. AND AT This price, if it lasts a year or two it's a great deal. There is certain maintenance that should be done if you want yours to last however they did not include any of that peer in the instructions. Only ONE negative, it's very small, so you can't just put it anywhere. Certainly isn't a dealbreaker for me. I've heard it's "Hobbit Approved"..... I do like the red color makes it really easy to see it specially in the dark.

Very happy with purchase. Its smaller than my previous wah but works great. Lots of sound options and parameters. Good weight for the size. Some people have noted flat spots along the sweep but I havent noticed this. It has a smaller foot print than a standard wah so does take a little getting used to. I havent used it as a volume pedal much so cant really comment on that, but a handy feature none the less. My favourite feature is that it isnt spring loaded so great for using it as a cocked wah by depressing it to the desired position/sound and leaving it there. You can add another dimention to your sound by doing this as a lot of famous guitarists do. Im not mad on the colour of it and the engage button is a little stiff but i think it only because its new. My one is not as hard to depress as some people have stated in other reviews. Overall Im very happy with this pedal. Excellent for the price. A small but solid, versatile and great sounding wah. Would recommend

Teniendo en cuenta todas las variables que configuran el sonido de una guitarra electrica,en mi caso es un pedal con un resultado muy bueno.Anteriormente tuve la ocasion de probar el famoso Cry Baby con una guitarra y un equipo que no eran los mios,y aunque mis medios son mas bien modestos me gusta mas el sonido resultante de este pedal.No he trasteado mucho con los ajustes todavia pero es sin duda un plus. No le doy 5 porque pisando a tope me sale un siseo muy leve,puede que sean los cables,editaré si averiguo el motivo.
