Read Before Buying That Board
I was already quite aware of the dangers - yes, _DANGERS_ - that can come to roost & inflict paranormal havoc on those innocent (and/or cocky) individuals who make the terrible mistake of buying an Ouija board. "It's just a game..."None of the people enjoyed the demonic terrors that infested their homes & lives because they used an Ouija board - not just in this book, but the terrified people whose terrors are seen on T.V. & YouTube, as well. You will never find a book about anything good that came about by using any kind of "spirit board." That's because, given the smallest of invitations, evil entities bent on the users' misery, weakness, & actual physical harm (up to & including deaths) will come through, & wreak havoc. Demons LIE, & they pretend to be whatever it thinks will sucker people in. They try to increase their powers on our plane of existence, usually by pretending to be some "good" spirit, (classic examples used by demons are girls that died young, people who were killed in accidents, or deceased relatives.) Then they give more enticing "hints" to egg on naive users to continue & increase their use of the board. Eventually, the demons won't need a board or people to manifest on our plane of existence. They are now powerful entities hell-bent on inflicting utter chaos on our plane. At first, it's just knocks, bangs, & sometimes scratching from inside the walls. The demon then ups the ante by actually physically attacking the boards' users & their families. Troublesome, annoying, then more serious events occur with increasing frequency. The affected people are at the mercy of a demon. This demon will continue with terrors; driving their target into mental, emotional, physical, & spiritual exhaustion. These actions against their "target" are simply wearing the victim's will down toward the "end game." For the demon, this "tormentng" is crushing a human's will, & taking that person's soul - turning that person's soul to evil. The person the demon has crushed will be possessed; that person is NO LONGER IN CONTROL. They will do whatever the demon chooses. The possessed will harm themselves, harm their family & friends, & doing things that person, pre-possessed, would never have done. The demon will be trying to force that person to turn away from God.SO - With that being said, are you going to buy that board, open that vortex, & suffer for yourself the terrifying existence, the horrors, like the people whose stories fill this book, & all the T.V. programs, - even YouTube?AND - don't forget, your family & friends get dragged into this. Do you think they'd be happy with this hot mess dumped on them because you wanted to play around with something you know nothing about? Do you think they'd enjoy watching you being slowly torn to pieces, & your personality go from warm & loving to cruel & nasty? As they say, "it's just a game..." Uh, NO - this isn't a game. It's not Monopoly. It's a ticket to turn your life into a train wreck, & drag everyone you know & love with you.

So-so stories
The book is cheap and not too long, and if you're interested in stories of people meddling with the occult this is mildly entertaining. It seems some stories may have come from actual accounts, but I would guess most stories are made up by the author.I've read other books on the occult by clergy and demonologists, and the stories in this book strain credulity. For instance, in various stories the board is able to accurately predict someone's death years in the future. I don't buy that.Further, most of the stories are no more than a few paragraphs long. The stories essentially go "Fred used a ouiji board. The ouiji board said Fred would die in 1985. Fred died in 1985." Spooky spooky. For very short, mildly entertaining campfire - like stories on ouiji boards, this is your book. For a more substantiated account of the real risks of playing with the occult, I recommend a book by a demonologist or a clergy exorcist.

The Ouija board ruined my son's life
I'll try again. I believe that playing with the ouija board as a child ruined my son's life. He is now in his 40s has done stints in Federal, state and county jails, has been homeless for years, attempted suicide and is estranged from his family. Ouija boards should not be sold to minors. If you have had a bad experience with the ouija board please contact the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Might have rated it lower
The reason I gave it four starts is that I have an interest in the paranormal and I find books like this interesting. If I didn't have an interest in the paranormal, I probably would have given it two or three stars. My reason for the low rating would be that, when a book like this doesn't give out the full names and locations of the people who had these experiences, you have no way to prove that these stories are real or just made up by professional writers. That said, I think that anyone who is dumb enough to fool around with a Ouija Board is asking for trouble. Leave that stuff alone.

A terrifying good read!
I read this book in one sitting. Very well written, very scary. I'm glad that someone has finally put a book out there regarding ouija boards and the danger that comes from using them. The Author has some very credible sources on this topic. If you are interested in the occult, want a book that's scary and a quick read this is the book for you.

Read & learn from these peoples encounters
I re-bought this book after my other one mysteriously disappeared I’ve re-read these books to educate people on the dangers of the ouija board, I own and use a ouija board myself it opened up my psychic abilities actually (believe it or not) but I’ve been very careful and respectful of the board since day 1 don’t use the board if you don’t take it seriously or think “it’s just a game “ that’s how many many hauntings & possessions happen

Good Book
I really enjoyed John Harker's book on Ouija Boards. The only critique I could give it was the stories were too short. I wish there had been a follow up with some of the stories but all in all a good read!

Very good read
Just read that from cover to cover after buying it today. Very gripping and interesting. Extremely well written and engaging too. Only one of the stories i'd heard of before. Very unfair that one star review you got and you know, when you hit the number one spot, then all of a sudden bad reviews. I've had this happen too when my book hit number one a couple of Christmas's ago. Trying to knock you off the number one slot. You got off lightly with just the one bad review.Back to Ouija boards. I too had a terrible Ouija board experience and i totally 100% believe these to be the most dangerous things to mess around with. I was physically attacked a few weeks after by something i couldn't see. Wouldn't touch another if i was paid. You also have to think about your loved ones, because they too are in danger, not just the player of the board.Look forward to spotting other paranormal books you've written.

Good quick read
Its a good quick read. It builds a case that the Ouija is dangerous so there are no positive stories about it in this book. Still, a good price for some entertainment value.
