This game is awesome. Wish it had an expansion. It’s not an easy coop board game but that’s part of the fun. One frustration is you’ll find after several play-throughs that some of the characters are just vastly superior than others and are much easier to win with. So I do wish that the characters were more balanced to where you didn’t feel like you were at a disadvantage switching from character to character.

Our household loves coop games and this has quickly become a new favorite. It is a middle weight coop game that is beatable but isn't so easy you know you will win. It encourages a lot of communication and strategizing which has been very fun! I find games do take longer than 45 min. The pieces are good quality and feel like they will last for the hundred plus times we will play this game. The learning curve is very fast, taking about one play through to get down the basics of the strategy. If you like strategic mid-weight co-op games than you will like this game!

Challenging cooperative game, best played at 4 players! Very fun!!

This is Ghost Stories 1.5. I won't get into a regular review because there are plenty here already. I will say that this is more streamlined and cleaned up a bit over GS. One significant change is that there are 8 characters to choose from. However, 4 characters are bad, 2 are good, and 2 are top tier. With the 4 better characters, we were able to beat the game on hardest setting (3 warlord bosses). With all baddies we barely got past the first boss one time. With a mixture of 1 good and 3 bad, we can maybe get to the 2nd boss. So there are character balance issues. Other than that, this is still a 5 star game. The one player board when there are 3 minions on it and it invokes the players to all fall down instead of drawing a minion can be crippling, especially when a boss is in play.

This game is extremely easy to teach/learn. Although it can be played solo, it most shines at 4 players. It requires communication and cooperation to beat. Although there are dice and shuffled decks involved, victory/defeat never feel random. If you like painting miniatures, these are well-sculpted, and there are few enough that you can complete the set within a week or so.

This is a very fun board game, but not for the faint of heart. The first games can be frustrating because you're getting your butt kicked hard. 😂 Its a 1-4 player game pitted against the game itself and its monsters. You can play with the amount players you choose, but I would highly recommend playing with all four characters or it's too difficult. Long story short, buy it, try it, get good at it and enjoy!!

My husband and I first tried this game in the gaming cafe and couldn’t beat it - it seemed so hard. So we decided to buy it and try to figure it out - after you play it a few times it becomes a lot of fun and it’s also a cooperative game which is nice for those who hate competition! I wish they had extension packs with more characters and monsters.

A reimplementation of Ghost Stories, with slightly streamlined gameplay. An absolute blast to play. Extremely difficult.
