Is it rough on bare foot ? I want to use it as Shower rug to soak up all the water.

I tried stepping on the doormat bare-footed, in order to answer your question. The answer is that the doormat is rough, of course, but not painful. I have noticed, however, that the doormat can be slow to dry (due to its thickness and density), and therefore might harbor some mold or odor if used in a damp shower room environment. I love this doormat otherwise, but probably wouldn't use it as a shower rug.

Does this have a rubber back? I'd like to use it for my rabbit cage. It's a solid, plastic bottom and he needs traction.

No it does not have a rubber back. I got 2. One is for our front door and the other one the cats use. They love it. It has the same facing on both sides. Having said that I think your rabbit will find that it will give him all the traction he needs. It is not smooth and there is a lot of texture to the finish....

I'm really sorry but I do not know the answer to that question because it has never been wet and I would not think of intentionally getting it wet. The mat is very dense, made from coconuts. My suggestion is to check with the manufacturer, Kempf and sons. If you google Coir Doormats you should be able to access their website and phone #. I love this mat, the color is a soft tan and it is very sturdy. Hope it works out for you.
