This is my second install of the Kerdi Shower system and this Kerdi Drain. I really like the fact that the water seal is on top of the shower pan thereby eliminating a substantial source of mold in the shower. This system assures that the only moisture storage is confined to the tile and grout and not a deep bed of porous cement as in traditional shower pans. It is also very easy to install with or without access to the drainpipe from below. The square shape of the drain cover makes cutting the floor tile easier than a circular one.

For a bathroom remodel - it is a great product.

This is a German product so you can be assured it is well made and correct.It was purchased because my spouse liked the design of drain grate.Our contractor who was renovating our bathroom did some research when we told him we wanted that drain.He found that Kerdi offered an entire membrane sealing system for bath/shower walls that matched up with the membrane supplied with the drain.So he abandoned his initial plan for sealing and used the Kerdi system. It is guaranteed for life and specifically good for water and MOLD proofing. It was much easier to install [very thin but robust membrane] and took up less space etc. He stated he would use that system in the future for all shower /bath walls.

Given the price of the Kerdi band inner and outer corners, this kit really is a bargain. It is simple to install (assuming you have all the drain plumbing set up and ready to go), and you have all the corner waterproofing pieces you need for the rest of the shower. Now, if only Kerdi band itself wasn't so expensive!

I really like the Schluter ecosystem. My latest shower is on the second floor and this is the only drain/waterproofing system that I trust to avoid showerpan failure. Schluter provides quality instructional video online for the DIYer and there is more out there from other building content creators.

It is easy to install, expensive for what it is but is the only one that works with the Schluter pan for tile showers

I've used this on two installs myself in two different houses. I'm a DIY kind of guy. Follow the instructions and you will have a great drain that will last.

Our contractor only uses Schluter products. Highly recommend
