i have pale, cool skin the actual formula is great and buttery, so easy to put on. it took some scrubbing with micellar water to get the swatch off my hand, so there is some staying power. the color is more like a pinky-coral to me, not a pinky mauve. i think of cool tones when i think of mauve, but this seems more warm/neutral to me? its a pretty color tho, just not what i was expecting. sadly i don't have a use for it. take this with a grain of salt. theres no scent which is great, you can sharpen this with a pencil sharpener, the casing seems more plastic-y, not wood. 5 stars cuz its a good product, but the colors shown aren't accurate to what i have photos of.

This lip liner is comparable to MAC or Bobbi Brown cosmetics. Very pigmented. The colors are excellent and exactly how they describe them. Recommended application for the best look: If you have a primer, use that first. Wait a minute. Then apply a small amount of concealer around your lips. Blot. Then apply the liner around the lips, and then fill in lightly with the liner. Press your lips lightly. Blot loosely with powder if you want. Then apply lipstick or gloss. Or even a lip balm. The look will be locked for hours! This is recommended by a makeup artist and it works every time. :)

The product itself is really nice. It’s creamy, easy to blend and as it dries it’s very smudge resistant and doesn’t really budge which I love. I have yet to sharpen it which I’m dreading based on the reviews however the dual sharpener from La Femme I’ve had for years doesn’t seem to have an issue sharpening these types of plastic-y pencils when you use the larger end. The colors look darker online. I would have liked to see swatches on actual people but NYX doesn’t have these swatched. I thought “Sugar Glass” and “Nude suede shoes” would be around the same depth. I wanted a lipliner close to my actual lip color to get that sort of lip filler type of look. I thought I’d love NSS but it’s lighter than SG and pulls a sort of baby pink on me so that was a bit disappointing. The NSS packaging color looks darker which made me think it would be a more medium nude-pink but it’s pretty light. SG is pretty good but a tad light/too peachy nude so I’ll try some of the other nudes. I’m about C35 in Mac, yellow-green undertone.

I absolutely LOVED this Lip Liner. I have used this brand and same color for years. HOWEVER, they have apparently made a change to the product. I believe the material around the liner was once wood, now it appears to be a plastic. It sharpened easily, NEVER broke and last forever. My new order arrived and I have had nothing but problems. 1. It is now difficult to sharpen. I had to try three sharpeners before I found one that would work. 2. The liner no longer goes on smoothly. It pulls and leaves very little color. 3. It breaks continually. It breaks not only when applying but will fall out of it's surrounding covering and slide out as much as 1/4" at a time. It appears to be broken in the pencil covering. The previous liners were good for months, this new liner has "worked?" for three weeks and now in need of a new one. I CAN NO LONGER RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!!

Though I like this brand and these lip liners, the color does not look as pictured. It is a dark purple color. In the picture it looks like it has some grey in it but it does not. I have found with this brand that the colors pictured frequently look nothing like what is pictured so be aware.

I was very VERY disappointed that Rimmel's 1000 Kisses lip liners were d/c and found this as a replacement (Dark Soul) for the Rimmel Coffee Bean shade. Let me just say that the NYX meets and exceeds expectations. Even though it's creamier and easier to apply it is richly pigmented and lasts beautifully under my dark and berry colored lipsticks. Don't hesitate: THIS IS what you're looking for in a lip liner. Same goes for this product in "Espresso".

Like colour and how well it goes on

My first time trying nyx lip liner. It was super matte but smooth and easy to apply. It has intense color...just the shade I was hoping for. Definitely recommend and def will buy again.
