Make your favourite Indian takeaway dishes at home Kenny McGovern's obsession with recreating takeaway and fast food dishes over the years has led him to the belief that Indian cooking is perhaps the greatest example that variety really is the spice of life. The different herbs and spices used in Indian dishes creates a vast range and depth of flavour, from spicy, sweet, savoury and sour curry sauces to fragrant and aromatic sides. The Indian Takeaway Secret is a meticulously researched love letter to Indian cooking, containing delicious examples of traditional Indian cooking and street-food style dishes alongside popular recipes honed and developed largely in the UK, as well as the fusion food offered in many Indian restaurants today. Inside you will find restaurant classics like pakoras, bhajis, Dansak and Tikka Masala; classic dishes such as Sharabi and Tarka Dal; as well as street food favourites including Disco Fry Egg, Akoora and Aloo Subzi. With this vast array of tasty takeaway recipes for every occasion, you'll be able to enjoy all your favourite Indian food from the comfort of your own home - and at half the price!

Easy to follow.
Great little paperback with recipes from the local Indian so to speak.Easy to follow, though some of the ingredients were hard to get, ie beetroot powder, but allows you to cook causes in bulk and the make your own sauces and meals from the recipes inside.Great way to learn Indian cookery at a good price.

Recipes in book look and tastes like proper quality restaurant food
Have only tried a few of the recipes but results have been great. Followed the book to the letter and if I'm being 100% honest was totally blown away with the food. The flavours, the texture and the actual look of the food was at a level I'd never achieved before. The basic Indian broth, as a precusor to other dishes, is incredibly flavoursome itself and better than some of the finished restaurant meals that I've had. I'm currently ordering up more specialised spices and Indian ingredients to try some other dishes. I'm inspired to try many more of these recipes. What a great book. 5 stars aren't enough.

A great read
Could do to be a little bigger and have a few pictures in but it's a good book to follow

Another cracker!
This latest book is every bit as good as its predecessors. The base curry ‘broth’ is different from the one in the first Takeaway Secret, but simple enough to make, and it makes making your favourite curries easy. So far, I’ve just had patia and jaipuri, both excellent.I like the chapters telling you what ingredients and utensils are recommended, and recipes for more unusual dishes.I thoroughly recommend this book.

Outstanding and simple to follow.
I have now purchased all of Kenny McGovern's books, and each one is an improvement on the last. The recipes are very simple to follow, not over-complicated or with specialist skills or equipment required, and the end results are exactly what you expect when you start. I now have very few take aways and even my three grown up sons, who would not normally know one end of a ladle from the other are having a go.Highly recommenedMTSMFTFTFJ

Kenny strikes again!
We’ve got all of Kenny's books and he’s known as takeaway man in our house! This is a collection of absolutely spot on Indian takeaway recipes. I doubt very much they’re authentic cuisine but if you want something that tastes like it’s come from a curry house - this is the book for you.

Inform no pictures in book, Amazon needs to make sure packing is waterproof if placing outside
The book looks fine but would be far better if it had pictures to show how it's supposed to look at the end. Otherwise recipes written well. Down size and this is Amazon's fault....if your not going to put the book in a dry area you need to make sure the package is waterproof. Sorry I'm sure the recipes will be good but due to lack of pictures and a soggy packaging only giving 2 stars.
