Rubbermade Commercial Products Thermometer
I use this thermometer to confirm a safe food storage temperature in my new garage refrigerator. I needed to confirm that the set temperature was in fact correct in different locations including the freezer. After checking the calibration it has worked perfectly. Itโs an uncomplicated appliance but is important. I think the Rubbermaid commercial product line may be trustworthy. Canโt beat the price.

Refrigerator / Freezer Thermometer
Refrigerator / Freezer Thermometer. Attached to this review is a picture of the info on the back of the package. 2025 review: The Refrigerator / Freezer Thermometer works but I'm not sure how accurate it is, since I don't have calibrated scientific equipment. It is "good enough" I think. My idea was to put one unit in the fridge, one in the freezer, and one in my basement freezer. I now have 3 Rubbermaid Refrigerator / Freezer Thermometers. One I got back in 2018, and two more in 2025. The one from 2018 still works fine. Of the two new ones, one of them reads the same as my 2018 model, the other is two degrees F higher. I have no way of telling which readout is more accurate. There is a difference between Accuracy and Precision. Accuracy is how close to the truth it is. Precision is how close to the same result something reads each time, not considering the truth. For example, a thermometer that reads the exact temperature would be Accurate. A thermometer that reads a few degrees off, but by the same amount each time, would be Precise. Lastly I think it would be great if someone would do a test of all major thermometers, using calibrated scientific equipment.

Accurate and easy to read
I bought 2, one for the frig. and one for the freezer. These unit are very accurate and essy to read. They were delivered on time. Itโs good to spot issues with the frig or freezer before it becomes a big problem. Definitely a good investment.

Simple as it gets, easy to read. Seems accurate.
Simple as it gets, easy to read, affordable, seems accurate. It shows my freezers coldness status as basic "working as designed" level of cold. I have 2 old Frigidaire chest freezers that are each 3.5 feet high and 2 X 3 foot lid size. With this thermometer in the middle back of the freezer (half way vertically from the top) "Freezer One" is at 0 degrees Fahrenheit and "Freezer Two" is at 2 degrees above zero. My understanding is that Zero degrees is the norm. You can get some home consumer freezers (usually chest type) down to -4 F and sometimes even -20 F in some brands. Consumer home units are not always clear on if they will go the extra mile colder. I have read that "Frost free" freezers "heat up" and refreeze something like 4 or 5 times a day. I learned this from reading up on refrigeration online - I am not a professional, just a concerned consumer who has been trying to educate himself. YMMV. OPTIONAL DIGRESSION / THIS CAN BE BORING - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! A freezer that gets to -4 or lower is desirable in reducing the survivability of hookworms / roundworms / tapeworms in various fish (examples: cod, Salmon, halibut). I have read safety suggestions to leave the fish at -4 or below for a full week. That and heating the fish meat to 140 degrees F (for a piece less than 6 inches in thickness) kills parasites or... makes them so disabled / dopey that they wont survive your stomach acid. I've never had an infection but after reading about it, I want to make sure any parasite critters in my foods are dead. If you can be * sure * your fish was flash deep frozen then most likely you don't need to worry about this aside from cooking the fish sufficiently. I have retained my current freezers due to interia (i.e. dreading the upheaval of replacing them, the whole swap out), it will probably be a spring cleaning "project". I am considering getting a "True" brand freezer which, from what I can tell, is a semi-pro grade (i.e. not laboratory grade but more solidily engineered than consumer) freezer that can get down to at least -4 F and possibly further. Back to the Rubbermaid thermometer: For what I paid, I am pleased with it. it is LOW hassle and durable. I also recently purchased a digital Freezer thermometer from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HO4VZRQ/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_8. I'm sure the digital will be more hassle / loseable / breakable. It may be more accurate. I will report back on how closely the two thermometer types compare down the road.

Very accurate
I bought these after the first set I bought was over 10 degrees different between the two. When I received the i tested these in the fridge and freezer there was only 1 degree different between them.
