Profound - In Depth - Taijiquan Theory In the last seven centuries, many songs and poems have been composed about Taijiquan. These have played a major role in preserving the knowledge and wisdom of the masters, although in many cases, the identity of the authors and the dates of origin have been lost. For the last twenty years, Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming has translated many of these documents and according to him, he believes numerous are incomplete for reasons relating to: forgotten oral secrets, authors personal understandings narrowly focused and many documents are missing. All of the songs and poems have been written by Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming. a very good coverage of the subject
I teach Tai Chi and have many books, DVDs, and articles on the subject. This book covers the beginning and the core of what makes Taijiquan so unique and powerful, a very good coverage of the subject, a good read, and an invaluable resource for my classes - for students that want to learn more about Tai Chi Chuan. Highly recommended.

Clear and well written
This is not my first YMAA purchase if that tells you anything, I have been studying martial arts almost my entire life. This book goes in depth as to the actual theories of Taijiquan. This book is not for people that are trying to learn Taijiquan, it is written for the person that wishes to understand it as a philosophy and for those that want to understand the "why" part of forms/postures. I highly recommend this book to any person that wants a deeper understanding of Taiji.
