Q: Will the medium size bed fit my 55 lb German short hair pointer

I would definitely purchase the size large. I have a weimaraner who weighs 65 pounds and likes to curl up in the bed as well as stretch out in the bed and has ample space to do so. I had initially purchased the medium and instead purchased the large which was the perfect size. This is a wonderful bed, well made!

Q: Are you supposed to remove the plastic cover of memory foam?

You are supposed to cut open the clear plastic packaging to take out the memory foam which is in a beige colored plastic cover with a zipper. The plastic cover with the zipper (that the memory foam is in) is their to protect the memory foam from getting soiled.

Q: Is the bottom durable? My puppy is a chewer and loves chewing the bottom of beds, and loves chewing on zippers (he’s a 14lbs bichon mix)

My dogs are small and don't chew. They are no longer puppies so maybe that's why they don't chew. The beds are otherwise very durable and the cover is washable. Overall I am very pleased.

Q: is the dog bone toy washable

Yes, we washed and dried the one that came with our dog’s bed and it was just fine afterwards.
