Are there rust-proof grommets available for these punch plyers?

The included grommets are NOT RUST PROOF! I bought this in July 2021 to hang some shade cloth, and they are all rusted out already after 4 months (and very little rain). They are iron/magnetic, so they stick to the pliers, but definitely NOT STAINLESS STEEL. The Amazon description says the material is 'stainless steel', but that might only be the pliers. So if you don't want the grommets to rust out, you had better buy extra stainless steel grommets separately.

Has anyone tried to punch out a hole (ie. on a belt) without using a grommet?

Yes, have not been successful. I need a different tool.

The video says it can't be used for fabric. Is that true? Would it work for fleece?

Dear friend, It can't be used for fabric and fleece. If the material is too hard to punch, it can be pre-punch to try.

can it do stainless grommets?

Yes. If the grommet is magnetic it will be easy. The heads of the tool will magnetically hold them in place. If it’s not magnetic it can still do it but it is harder to line everything up.
