Q: How many would be needed for a small (1-2 person) sauna?

3 to 4 panels would be recommend for a 1-2 person sauna room

Q: Could this unit be installed in an existing shower enclosure? And or behind a glass sheet to protect from moisture?

I have been a builder since 1970. I would not put any electrical by moisture. I am also a professional electrician and plumber.Glass is not a moisture barrier. It acts as a conductor for moisture.

Q: Do these come with a cord and ready for plug-in?

Thank you for your inquiry. The infrared heater comes with ready to connect wiring. The heaters can be connected to an existing sauna controller or wired directly to a power switch similar to a house light switch. The heater panels are available in 120 VAC and 240 VAC. No, Wikipedia suggests the 4 to 14 microns is mid range, ideal for sauna.
