No it’s not food! It’s for facials treatment or any body care.

I know it is great for my skin. I haven’t personally tried it on my hair, but there are many diy recipes out there that call for it. It is for safe for skin, I don’t see why hair would be any different.

I've seen conflicting messages about it being safe for internal use--is it actually?

I have no idea, I personally would not use anything internally, unless it states it is a food grade clay. It does not state this on the bag it came in.
