Tested the product on my phone straight out of the box. Worked flawlesssly and the audio quality is of notiiceable improvement over the built-in mic, louder, clearer and picks up more details. For the price, you can't fault it.However, one catch for this Mic: it comes with TRRS 3.5mm pin (4 section with 3 plastic ring), which is NOT compatible with TRS 3.5mm female socket (3 section with 2 plastic ring). If you don't know the difference, make sure you google it. I was expecting it to work with a dedicated mic socket on my DAC as well, but it turned out incompatible.

Wow, I've used top of the range mics in my job like Sennheiser and Shure but this one is a shocker. The sound quality is awesome and broadcast quality. I used this for an online video and a fellow pro asked if I used an expensive mic! Please buy, its top quality and very sturdy.

Was working fine for about a week with decent results over the internal microphones on a galaxy S8. That was until it developed a fault half way through a recording ruining over 30 mins of footage. Furious 😡

AmazonBasics products are normally far from basic, and this is true here. This is a good-quality microphone that really does improve the quality of audio when recording. It does have a couple of limitations, though. Firstly, it works when plugged into a 3.5mm jack socket, so will only work on Apple devices with an adapter. Secondly, it is best-suited to being used when on the supplied stand, so it’s better when the device you’re using for recording is in a fixed position. Bearing in mind these two points, it’s pretty good.
