Great swim and fittness watch!
After 6 months of using this Garmin Swim 2 GPS watch for 3 swim workouts per week and as a general fitness watch recording walking steps, I give it 5 stars for design, function and durability. Along with the Garmin Connect App, this has been an enjoyable fun fittness tool!

Clear watch face easy to use
Love the swim 2 I used a Fitbit versa 2 prior to this but it did not map open water swims. The Swim 2 does a great job in open water at lakes and in the ocean. I’ve not used it in a river but have no doubt it would work very well. Not only does it map and record your swim, intervals , pace and stroke count you can also use it for other sports like running, hiking and biking etc. I like the watch face it’s easy to read and use.

A good watch for triathlon training.
I like this watch for it tracks swimming, running, biking and cardio…trifecta for a triathlete. Where it lacks however is that it can glitch and turn itself off during a lap session. (Happened only once but was disheartening) It is not very accurate on treadmill runs compared to the mileage on the treadmill itself with a whopping 1.5 mile difference. So far it’s been accurate on trail runs. Same is noticed on the bike. Actual bike mileage is close but the stationery bikes are way off. So all in, I would recommend but proceed with knowledgeable caution.

Best Fitness Watch Ever
I have used the Apple Watch, Fit BIt, Iron Man and Fitbit again to track my exercise, sleep, and heart rate. This watch beats them all - its not close. First the battery life is huge. Usually 5 days even when using it for Swim tracking. Simple notifications. Tracks sleep stress weather. Great for swimming pool and open water. Took a couple days to get the buttons down but now its really intuitive and simple. Dollar for Dollar best watch I own.

Sensitive counter
This is my second review after using it again today. Keep in mind this does NOT count meters for you. You tell the watch how many meters, or yards, the pool is. it just counts your laps and does the math for you. To catch your laps you have to push off hard enough at the beginning of each turn. This means you also have to end with a final 'turn around'. Today I swam 2400 meters. I know this because I counted in my head like have been doing for years. the watch only states 2375. Since I start and end on the same side of the pool it should never be an odd number. My only guess is when I finished I touched the wall and clicked to stop. it never captured my last lap because I didn't turn around when I finished. gonna test this out tomorrow but keep that in mind. also, I did 200 meter kick at the end and it didn't capture any of it even though I pushed off the wall hard each time.

Stop performing well 60 days after purchase
I've been using Garmin for years and recently purchased a Swim 2 (previously I was a Fenix user) This particular device is not working as expected. Battery shows 30% and then goes off completely, saying out of battery suddenly. The actual battery lasts only 1-2 runs. I tried to power cycle it, to reset to default settings, and all recommendations I could find in Garmin forum; The issue still persists. I reached out to the seller and I found no answer. I was looking for a replacement or even to upgrade to Fenix, but they went silent. As a result, I find myself having purchased a device that does not operate as expected and I cannot return or exchange.

It does not automatically adjust time when changing time zones--a major flaw.
It is annoying that the watch does not automatically change the time zone when you travel. It does not count as laps if you are just kicking, which is a major flow. You must have arm action (rotation) to count distance. UI needs lots of improvements and simplification. OK for open-water swimming

Big help
I swim in an odd length pool- and watch counts Laps distance and heart rate so well. I like that there is no need to bring my phone into the pool area but I can leave it out in the car. There was a lot of added workout information and heart rate and stroke count that I didn’t think I would years but I really enjoyed digging into! excellent swimming watch! One of the guys I swim with has bought one now as well!
