!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3YR UPDATE !!!!!!!!!!
I'm not a computer guy, I don't solder tiny or delicate stuff. I've always used super cheap solder guns so this is my first real solder setup. But Holy crap does this thing get HOT and does it incredibly FAST! I have no idea what other solder irons are like besides the cheap ones that take 20min to heat up and don't stay hot enough to do any real soldering with. I'm currently using it to make wire harnesses for muscle cars and man, I can't get over how sweet this rig is. I'm 100% happy with this purchase. I didn't expect the spool, tweezer, solder sucker or other tips... It was a nice surprise to find them in the kit. 3yr UPDATE: This thing was a trooper, but the iron itself didn't like to stay together. The metal portion would fall off the handle pretty easy. The threads weren't stripped either. The only thing I can think of is the plastic locking ring grew from repeated heat cycles or the handle shrunk from the same cause. Very irritating! I used some thread tape on the handle threads and it helped, but still wasn't right. I really liked this soldering iron; used it yesterday and it was fine. Today it wouldn't heat up no matter what. I tore it apart trying to find an obvious problem and couldn't find one. Everything Ohm'ed fine, continuity was good, no burnt spots, no damage..... It just won't heat. Even the element was good. I can turn the knob to command a temp and it'll flip to the actual temp in a few seconds. It just sits there at 100 degrees or so and doesn't rise. I can hold a lighter under the tip and watch the digital readout temp rise, but it won't heat on its own. I tore the base apart and inspected everything, all looked good. I used a thermal camera on the board and the hottest part was the potentiometer knob body, but I'd expect that. No other part of the board or the mini board inside the iron itself had any hot pots per my Ames thermal inspection camera. I cleaned all possible contact points inside the iron end to no avail. I was at a complete loss as to why it wouldn't heat. Of course I started checking even dumb things and my unsteady hands touched the wrong thing. A single spark and it's now DOA. It was great until it wasn't..... I learned though, I'll have a cheap spare on hand at all times. Now I have to wait a few days to get a replacement. I went name brand this time.

Solid station
This soldering station is really nice. It heats up quickly and while it’s heating to your set temperature it displays where it’s at in the process. The dial itself can be a little touchy because it’s digital. It cools down quickly if the temperature is lowered. Over time the handle gets a little warm but it’s not bad. The clamp arms can take some getting used to for holding pieces but they do work. I wasn’t sure about the solder roll holder but after using it for a little while it becomes pretty handy. After that I popped the lid on the tip cleaner and dropped in the holder. The iron has a nice long cable on it but then you can’t use the clamp arms so plan for that. So far no complaints on this station.

Extremely good station.
All around, this thing is awesome, it heats up in seconds. The tips included are perfect starter tips. Very low oxidation on them after 10 plus uses. The included copper cleaning pad w rosin flux helps clean tips greatly and the sponge reminds you to clean before putting away and before use. It's compact, easy to assemble, and after months of use it's as stable as day one. For the price, you won't find a better product.

It's everything you want and more
It's awesome! I asked for this as a birthday present a few months back and it still runs like new! The dial allows for easy and precise temperature control and the included stand keeps it out of the way. The individual spots for each thing you would need come in very handy and convenient. The tips allow for a lot of different applications and the irom itself is really comfortable to hold and pretty sturdy. Overall I love it! The included helping hands are also so nice to have.

Much better than the original iron
This model allows me some confidence in soldering electronics for model railroading. The temperature read-out is an essential characteristic. The multiple tips are handy and the change-out is simple. The helping hands are helpful in countless instances. I was unable to purchase reasonably priced replacement tips for the original X-Tronic - the company tips were proprietary in design.

Great all-around kit for beginners
The long cord gets a little awkward to manage, but you get used to it. This was my first soldering iron and I'm glad it came with a stand for the iron and a couple helping hands. The temperature settings are simple and intuitive and I'm glad the sleep function is there as well. Aside from a bit of flux, this included everything I needed to get started with my small electronics hobby

Good Product
Going from a 'gun' style soldering iron to this - makes a big difference when trying to solder smaller things in tighter spaces. It heats up very fast and works well. There have been zero issues with it.

Big value in a tiny package
So I intentionally have been waiting to do a review on this unit. I bought it late December of 2021 and have been using multiple times a day for the last 9 months. The best feature I found is the adjustable temperature control, crucially important if you use different thicknesses of solder different jobs need different temperatures. I range from small circuit boards in a set of headphones to control boards on refrigerators. The clamps work flawlessly, and the variety of tips is perfect! IHaven’t had one issue to date. Honestly, for the price and the additional items it comes with even if you only use it a couple times a year it’s worth it. Works the way you expect it to work every time.

Fantastic solder station
I bought this station to build a pair of monoblock tube amplifier kits and it works amazing. This heats up to full temp in about 20 seconds and works great doing very fine circuit board work and larger things like soldering copper speaker terminal blocks.

A great value
Heats up quickly, lightweight in the hand. It’s smaller than you think so it won’t take up too much space on a desk. No need to spend a ton on Weller unless you are doing lots of soldering. This unit is quite good for the value.

Nothing to dislike except price
Excellent product. Temperature control is fast, warmth is perfect to work and handle dont heat up so easy to use. Value for money is not that consumer friendly as its little costly.
