PONS Wörterbuch Spanisch -> Deutsch Advanced / Diccionario PONS Español -> Alemán Advanced (Spanish Edition)

I've only had this dictionary for a short while, but it has what I need in it. It's easy to use even if you can't load it as the default dictionary on your device. It has the alphabet in the front which is linked, then you go to a page which lists page headings as a paper dictionary would, click on the link to your page and find your word. It's great having something that's very portable and a good reference. It's only german to english, so if you need both, you may want something else or in addition to this.

It is definitely more complete than the Deutsch-Englisch Woerterbuch (Max Moser), which I've also tried to use with KIindle books written in German. Of course, with verbs which are split in a sentence, I have to actually type in the verb infinitive to find the meaning, but that would be true for ANY dictionary. It WOULD be nice if the Kindle software would allow me to simply click on the desired verb when displaying the complete definition, thus allowing internal references within a dictionary.

Great for English readers reading German. It is fast and intuitive. The word list could be longer or it could parse those compound words and give you a chance at solving them. Instead it treats them the same as proper names, In all fairness it is almost impossible to handle all German compound nouns as a straight look up and this dictionary is well worth the money.

I read books in German to improve my vocabulary. I have tried a few dictionaries, but they usually fall short, missing several words. Pons fares much better. Its greatest strengths are two: (1) It recognizes regular and irregular verbs when they appear conjugated in the text; and (2) In each entry, it gives examples of sentences using word. Those sentences very often match the expression used in the book that is being read.

Setting this up and integrating as default dictionary in the Kindle IPhone app seems to be ridiculously difficult. Not at all what I hoped. Someone will surely develop a functional comprehensive German dictionary that integrates well with Kindle.Update - After the initial disappointment with the integration while reading German in Kindle - which is why I bought it - the actual dictionary itself is quite good. I use it frequently for school projects and in tandem with print media.

It works well with Kindle books. Appreciate it.If it does not work with Kindle books, close and reopen Kindle and click the word again.I hope it adds more words because it does not contain enough technical words.But I am generally satisfied with it.

The paper dictionary is great and so too was the PC software version until Microsoft introduced Windows 7 after which it stopped working. This Kindle version is a wast of money. I can't even list all the problems I have had with it. Suffices to say that it doesn't work. It smacks of a hurried port from the PC software that was not even beta-tested before being released. Bottom line: for the moment, stick with the paper edition. If you require something that runs on Windows 10 or Android there is better software out there.

Full of great definitions and examples. Well formatted. My one complaint is actually a result of this: in the short popup that shows the first part of the definition, sometimes the only thing that fits is the noun/verb/etc. information. (I'm using a Kindle 5, it's probably different on other devices.) I'm not sure if there's a good alternative, this is still better than minimal formatting. Maybe some better balance could be achieved though.

E' stata una buona iniziativa quella di offrire anche in formato x Kindle il Dizionario German-English. La serietà e l'approccio user friendly dei dizionari Pons è fuori discussione. Peccato che la casa editrice non abbia ancora deciso di mettere in commercio in formato Kindle un buon dizionario (ricchissimo di vocaboli) bilingue Tedesco-Italiano e, anche più importante, un dizionario monolingua Tedesco, di corpose dimensioni, tale da fornire un'alternativa gradevole al pesantissimo dizionario Duden.

Ich verwende das Pons seit 2018 zum Übersetzen französisch-deutsch (und umgekehrt) auf dem Kindl paperwhite. Trotz der gelegentlich geäußerten Kritik bin ich hochzufrieden damit. Anfangs hat mich auch gestört, dass gelegentlich ein Eintrag nicht gefunden wird, weil es mehrere gleichlautende Einträge gibt und dann nur der erste (aber konkret nicht zutreffende) angezeigt wird. Dann bleibt nur über "Weitere Optionen-Wörterbuch öffnen" das Pons richtig aufzumachen und dann finden sich die weiteren Einträge. Das Problem ist aber eigentlich nicht eines des Pons, sondern des Kindle. Dieser könnte ja durchaus die Option bieten, jeweils beim Aufruf eines Wortes das Wörterbuch komplett zu öffnen und nicht nur ein kleines Vorschaufenster. Das habe ich mir schon seit Jahren gewünscht und auch einmal die Amazon-Hotline angerufen. Aber dort habe ich natürlich nichts erreicht. Immerhin hilft es, wenn man als Standardwörterbuch das beiliegende Dictionaire Francais cordial festlegt, dann aber auf das Ponst einmal wechselt. Dann wird immer zuerst das Pons abgefragt und wenn sich dort nichts findet, öffnet sich das Dictionire Francais cordial.Und dann wäre es ja auch noch hilfreich, wenn der Kindle notfalls alle hinterlegten Wörterbücher einer Sprache in einer festgelegten Reihenfolge abfragen würde und dann den ersten gefunden Eintrag anzeigen würde. Ich habe für Französisch insgesamt drei Wörterbücher hinterlegt, für Englisch vier. Genügend Rechenleistung haben die modernen Kindles ja alle, aber leider haben die Entwickler bisher nicht daran gedacht. Und die erreicht man wohl nur, wenn man chinesisch beherrscht.Aber das Pons kann man nur empfehlen. Für Französisch auf dem Kindle habe ich nichts besseres gefunden.

Complemento ideal para la lectura de libros en alemán especialmente si se está aprendiendo el idioma. Permite obtener fácilmente la traducción y con ello aligera la interpretación del texto para quienes aprendemos el idioma.

Works great on a Kindle. Picks up most verb forms. Only occasional compound words are missed. On the whole, it's much like using the English/English dictionary that comes free.
