Avène Cleanance Cleansing Gel Soap Free Cleanser for Acne Prone, Oily, Face & Body, Alcohol-Free

Worth trying for bacne — it solved my issue. I used to struggle with cysts, nodules, whiteheads, and blackheads, mostly on my back and occasionally on my shoulders. Sometimes it was painful and left scars that took a long time to heal. I tried everything — salicylic acid, AHA, benzoyl peroxide, adapalene — and followed all kinds of routines: applying products by hand, using a back brush, washing once or twice a day, even full skincare routines. Nothing ever worked. I also paid close attention to the cleanliness of my bedsheets, bath towels, and T-shirts, but it didn’t help. Then, about two months ago, an employee working in the cosmetic aisle of a well-known pharmacy suggested this product. While they weren’t a pharmacist, their advice turned out to be excellent. I’m now on my second bottle, purchased on Amazon, because I’m truly satisfied. My skin has cleared up completely. It feels deeply clean after each use, yet not dry — just smooth and soft. My pores are unclogged. No more pimples — not even a small one, whether deep or on the skin’s surface. It doesn’t foam much, but I think that’s part of the gentle formula. I apply it to wet skin, rub gently with my fingers until I get a rich lather — it takes some time — then rinse well with water. Sometimes I pat dry; other times I let it air dry. I’ve also been using it on my face, and it helps reduce pore size, control breakouts, and keep my skin moisturized (I have combination skin). The scent is neutral — just a clean, soapy, and fresh smell. It feels like a minimal, no-frills formulation designed to minimize irritation and preserve the skin barrier. Compared to many popular brands I’ve tried, this one is absolutely worth the price — especially if you’re struggling with bacne and other OTC options have failed. I was honestly amazed that such visible results came in just a week — from gentle ingredients you rarely see in dermatologist-prescribed treatments.

Works so well, and smells amazing!

I found this product by accident one day and have never looked back (my aunt gave me a sample of it that a client of hers gave her). I have very oily/acne-prone skin, and it has helped with oil control since the first use. It even removes makeup, making cleaning your face easier at the end of the night. I barely started putting it on my body acne, and it helps (I wish I had started sooner, but that's ok im sure by summer my body acne will be under control, and that is very exciting). Please do not hesitate if you have oily skin; this product is a game-changer. Avene, please never discontinue or change the formula to this product !!!!

This face wash is fantastic especially in the summer. I remember reading so many beauty articles that said how important it is to wash with a clear face washes ( as opposed to creamy, thick ones) in the morning especially when it’s warm to help combat perspiration, oils slicks etc. This really makes my face feel as if I dunked it into a cool, tranquil and mineral rich turquoise sea and it washes out any bits of morning slept in impurity while still maintaining very soft and comfortable skin which is rare. This prevents any extra oil build up from the start, being a clear not creamy face wash, and my makeup always stays on perfectly placed and not caked. My boyfriend also likes to use it so it’s for anyone really, I just love how refreshing and soothing it feels and the bottle has a fabulous little Sci-Fi / fancy opening which is neat and it lasts quite a bit. This wash is thicker than it looks so I get to enjoy it for a few months per bottle. I adore Avene and I haven’t used a product yet that doesn’t impress. The mineral rich thermal waters that their cosmetics are based on are truly healing and wonderful for the skin, I’ve been a fan for a bit now, can’t wait to see what else they come up with. This stuff can be used in the morning or at night, it’s a very versatile and soothing product with wonderful purifying and calming qualities and it smells divine and not fake, like a raging sea in a bottle full of skin loving nutrition, one of my favorites. -Kasia S.

It excellent product for your skincare

I use it together with my husband every day for more than 4 months. I am 32, I have very oily skin, open pores, acne, and blackheads. I have these issues all my life since maybe 15 years old. Now, when I am older, the situation is much better, but I still have some issues. My husband is also 32, he has normal skin, some blackheads on the nose. They are very hard to squeeze out and every time it is a whole story :-) About 9 months ago we moved to Florida and in fall my husband started to notice some acne on his cheeks. The pimples were white and red. I asked my cosmetologist, sent her photos, and she recommended him to use this gel. She now works in Europe and this company is very popular out there. She told his pimples appeared due to infection (perhaps he touched his face with dirty hands). I bought this gel and decided to use by myself also. Result: Husband after about a month of use doesn't have any pimples. The skin on his cheeks is even and soft. The blackheads are still on the nose :-) I still have the acne, but now I have other issues. Immediately after each wash, I feel dry skin. But after about half an hour, a lot of fat is released on the cheeks and on the forehead (I can directly wipe it with my fingers and see a shiny substance). I transcripted the barcode to know that the country of manufacture is France and the item was produced legally and Yes, everything is good. We used this gel as instructions recommend. So, in my mind, this gel is not suitable for all skin types and types of acne.

This was recommended by my dermatologist friend, and it has worked wonders on my skin. It's pricey but worth it, and never irritates skin. This is now my go-to; I don't need any other face wash after this one.

I love this cleanser! This is one of the only cleansers that keeps my combo, hormonal cystic acne prone skin clear while managing oil production. I keep coming back to it time and again. With regular use blackheads even are diminished. It's got a pleasant scent and lathers even though it's soap free. You only need about a nickel size of product each time you use. A sample bottle lasted what seems like an eternity so the full size will last a loooong time. It can make me feel a little dry at times, but it's easily combated with a good moisturizer. I use either Embryolisse Lait Creme or Caudalie Moisturizing Sorbet depending on how dry my skin feels. I find that the minimal dryness after using is better than being an oil slick mess with breakouts and it doesn't make me flaky. I would NOT recommend this cleanser if you have dry skin normally. As it is I mostly use this cleanser when the seasons change and the weather becomes warmer and my oil production is kicked into high gear. This cleanser also removes makeup insanely well. My face is always bright, smooth, and clean after using and feels refreshed. This cleanser won't be for everyone but if you have oily acne prone skin I'd give it a try. Maybe try to find a sample bottle first, and definitely follow up with a good moisturizer that you know does not break you out. I love Avene's products and I will continue to have this cleanser on hand at all times, even in the colder months when I don't use often, it'll clear up a breakout in a few washes. This is a lovely effective cleanser and I highly recommend it!

I've been using this cleanser for a few years and although I have tried other highly rated cleanser on the market, my skin generally likes and feels healthier and cleaner with this one. I always purchase the 400ml pump and it lasts for months. I even got my partner to use it and he loved it as well. The price is lower on Amazon than I found it in shops.

I got this face wash recommended from my dermatologist and very satisfies. Staying in polluted and humid Bombay made my skin got dirty and prone for pimples. I agree, this facewash dryies out a little bit, but it's gentler than standard face soaps. A nice smooth moisturiser helps out. The price is ok as it last for almost 5 months. Buying it for the second time now!
