Cool
I am no specialist in the history of pop etc, but I have read this book with interest. If you are curious about Gainsbourg, then you should probably get it. This is an upbeat bio, and there are a lot of illustrations (photographs).

Excellent book
Really enjoyed reading this. I knew very little about Gainsbourg other than his single from the 60s, Je t'aime. I can now fully understand why France came to a halt when he died. It's worth knowing more about individuals who can have such an effect on a country and this book is very well written.

well done
This was a wonderful book on Serge. The photographs were great, too. I liked that the book was clearly written and included tons of names and places so I could do further research.

Feels like a long newspaper article, which is fine. Has a good vibe.

Feel good story with substance
Lovely feel good story painting rural life in Spain at the beginning of the previous century. Mr Gordon brings his characters and environment to vivid life.

ebook lacks hotlinks
Interesting, amusing account of the mans life and career. Poignant description of his childhood as a French Jew during WW2. My only complaint is that the references were not linked so I would have had to manually scroll through the whole book to get to the notes and then back to my place if I'd wanted to read them in real time.
